Hello! I have a domain name. How can i tranfer it to my PC and run the site from there? I want it to be running from my own PC and not from a hosting company.

    Can someone help me?

You're taking the wrong step I'd say.

Still if you wanna test, you need something called dynamic DNS support from your domain registrar if your ISP doesn't assign static IP address.

You'd need required webserver etc software running on the PC...security should be high...else, who knows!

Anyway, better off buying some shared hosting account instead of this bad mess.

I highly doubt you have security implemented if you don't know how to setup and configuring DNS, HTTPD, PHP, etc, etc..

I've received numerous letters from Comcast telling me that providing services from my residential account is against their terms of service, and if I failed to discontinue the services, they would terminate my account. Make sure this is OK with your ISP before going any further.

So - here are my questions for you. How did you setup/configure a DMZ, stateful & stateless packet inspection, an intrusion detection system, and an explicit policy based firewall? Again, if you claim to have "security and everything," why are you unable to setup DNS and the other necessary services? Are automatic incremental and full off-site backups scheduled? What if the power goes out, how long will you remain on-line, assuming your ISP also remains on-line?

I don't know if you actually have this stuff set up or not, but if you did, all you would really need to do at that point is log in to wherever you have your domain registered (your registrar, like GoDaddy or Namecheap) and change the DNS settings to point to your computer/server. Or, if you're not running a DNS server, then use their DNS (usually free) and simply forward it to the IP address of your computer.
