http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080224/sc_afp/scienceclimateicecanada Interesting, a flood that affected the whole earth about 8200 years ago. Where have I head that story before?
in a fairy tales book probably. btw, 14 metres is not quite much and doesn't get you to the top of Ararat mount
trivial details like that don't concern him. he read "flood" and assumes it's evidence that the bible is historically accurate in it's entirety.
That the idea of a worldwide flood was so ridiculous a week ago. And that it just happened to have occured around the same period as the flood mentioned in the Bible. 14 meters is the assumption based on the amount of water assumed to be in that location. It doesn't take into account mutiple sources of water. Science thought there were zero sources of water that could flood the earth to any degree. Now they found one. There could be others.
aren't the scientist the ones making that discovery? It's interesting how you somehow suddently trust what scientists say when it confirms what you already believe
Who says I trust them? I'm just pointing out that science finally has their own flood story after claiming it was a ridiculous idea for so long. Since they're reporting based on observations they may very well be correct. Not like the fake "scientists" who make up stories with no observable, testable proof of what they say. Who says? That's not even the correct age for the young earth people.
There's archaeological excavations going on in the English Channel and remains of human settlement have been discovered 500 ft deep in the Black Sea. The Black Sea was 500 feet below sea level and was a somewhat smaller lake, around which many people probably lived.
excuse me, does this mean that you believe that 8K years ago there was a worldwide flood and a sample of every kind of living organism was put on a boat and so on? do you know how many metres would sea level rise if ALL the ice on earth melted?
Read the article. The water was underground. So how many meters would the oceans rise if say that huge ocean of water under Sibera were to suddenly stop being underground along with other large bodies of underground water? I'll give you a hint: nobody knows. It wasn't the ice that flooded the world. It was the water under the ice. Let's pretend that the Bible is correct and the every living creature was put on a boat 8000 years ago. But let's take into account that the Bible is wrong and that the earth is billions of years old. Also, for the sake of argument let's say the Bible is wrong and that God doesn't even exist. That proves that the Muffin man did it.
