Do you blog comment often?

I dont mean in a spammy way, but naturally commenting on related blogs, and does it bring you results of various sorts? im aware that plenty of blogs have nofollow in place, but not all.

Interested in your thoughts.

Yeah, I do it to related blogs to build my backlinks... Blog Comments is one way of building links to your site...

Excellent way to get some backlinks for your site. I'm constantly searching for blogs in my niche to comment on.

 

I comment from time to time but how do you know whether or not a blog is nofollow?

 

Blog comment is also a good source of backlinks if the blog you commented is not using nofollow attribute.

Let's say the blog has a NOFOLLOW...

Even if you don't get backlinnks.. if the website is of similar nature to yours. If you write a GREAT comment.. people could follow your website and you've just created more traffic to your website and possibly a greater following/return visitor!

I'd rather have a higher amount of returning visitors than PR backlinks.. I guess that's another question people have to ask themselves.. what is worth more?

Very good point, if it leads to some new visitors i would definately like that.

Cool, i will begin this and in a natural and gradual way.

 

each comment gets me around 5 visitors a day. blog comments work pretty well.

 

I agree with Energythis. I don't post for any PR boost, I post so people reading the article will link into my blog. Trackbacks are a good thing too.

 

the point of blog commenting isn't to obtain new clients.
It's to obtain backlinks to appear higher on the search engines.
A new client following the blog comment will only last so long.

I guess if you're content can't hold people's attention this is true.. but then why would you have a blog?

That's what I'm saying... If you're just commenting on people's blogs with a link to yours and not expecting to gain new readers from people curious about your blog.. then your blog must be boring as hell or you are writing dry comments with no personality.

I would always write a creative comment and gain people's curiosity which leads to my blog that has kick ass content. If your blog is not relevant and interesting.. then maybe you should stop blogging.
