Transfer a domain to my eBay affiliate link?

I have a certain domain that receives some traffic and instead of parking it, I consider redirecting it to eBay. I wonder if it is OK to forward it to my eBay affiliate link (using the flexible destination tool)?

Re-read the Ebay TOS. We've had this talk before. You are dropping a cookie on someone who didn't have any intention of seeing the product. This is as bad as setting ebay in an 1x1 iframe. I'll let someone else explain why this is wrong.

Who ever is feeding you this stuff needs to have their head checked.

If your domain name is cheap-discount-widgets.tld then it could be argued that they may be looking for widgets. Thus your assumption that they have no intention of viewing products is false.

Is it explicitly against the TOS to redirect your site to an offer?

I would have to say that it is not nearly the same as 1x1 frame cookie stuffing.

read the tos. there is a part about purposely setting a cookie on the users computer, redirecting to ebay would be the same effect.

Now honestly, if the user wanted to go to ebay, they would have gone there directly. Redirect to some other site that gives the user a chance to decide if they want to go to ebay.

I am having great success with doing something similar to this. There is no need to force a cookie onto a user.

This idea falls into the "do not force clicks" category in the TOS.

That would also include putting an ebay link on your front page ;) Let me clarify, a link that appears to lead you to the main part of your site, but instead sends them to ebay. Forget about this blackhat / greyhat crap, it isn't needed.

Strange how you are "forcing a click" here, since obviously they clicked something to visit your site in the first place. Just playing devils advocate.

A better way would be to just goto the affiliates section and grab some code for cool auctions - like 20 million buck houses - or wierd auctions. You will have a very high CTR and achieve the same effect without getting slapped
