I don't understand clicks

I have an aStore. Up until recently I though a click is when somebody clicks to see a specific product. Then I saw I get no clicks, and I knew it was impossible since I click every day, some of my firends they also click so I have to have some. I wrote to amazon and I was told a click is only when a customer clicks on "procede to checkout". I would think the rate should be high then, since I don't see why someone will go to "procede to checkout" and not purchase. But I get the feeling I'm missing something here.

    That's correct.

Nope, you aren't missing anything, it's a phenomenon I'm seeing pretty often as well. Many people proceding to checkout don't order...unfortunately. I could imagine they may want to check the shipping costs or whatever.

Is the conversion rate higher for cheaper items? Or there is no connection?
