I used hostgator.com and they are good untill you live inside their TOS, but they are bad at banning/blocking you and putting their own parking page.

cyberleo.net ... I keep trying to get the owner to rewrite the price matrix. If you start to go over your limits, you don't get banned for TOS violations. You just have to re-negotiate your price... For instance, if you're using 30% CPU on shared hosting, the owner would get into contact with you about either optimizing your code, increasing your usage plan, or offer to sell you to a dedicated server.

By the way, the reason the owner hasn't changed the pricing isn't because they disagree with me. It's because they have a bit of a problem completely quantifying what each level of usage means, since it's meant to be a mix of CPU consumption, RAM useage, and bandwidth. Guess I need to convince them that, having done this for a number of years, they likely know what level of each actually has an impact, and they can dictate from there.

I'm using shared hosting by hostgator. No downtime issue so far. So I'm very happy with it.

Just a suggestion, check out 110MB. Super space (I'm getting 5000MB to host my projects) and have the capability to withstand a little over 300K in pageviews monthly, and if I happen to go over, I'm not penalized. And it's FREE! I WAS using NVU/kompozer, but I kept having problems with them changing my code, so I made the switch to Dreamweaver MX and couldn't be happier. If you ever do have the same problems that I just described, do yourself a favor and google for Notepad2 which helps you retain your code structure, and is totally free.

Well I have a vps at knownhost.com and also have a shared and reseller there too. They are really good and probably the best host I've ever had. Also have a dedicated server at netrackservers.com and they are great and also hosting at dreamhost.com, they are okay.

I use my own web hosting company, travsolutions.com. I'm pretty pleased with it even if I am a bit bias. ;)

Godaddy is good. There are tons of others-Namecheap, Dynadot, name.com, Domainsite, Enom, Network Solutions, Eurodns etc.

Namecheap offers you free whoisguard for a year with every domain that you buy btw.

I'm at Dreamhost. Some people love them, some people hate them. I don't really have any problems with them.
