I do promote via search engine optimization and content with no PPC. I got sales as regularly for first 20 days with a little of visitors and CTR (about 10 a day and 10% ctr) and that made me happy. However, I have no single sales after those 20 days period, even I have much more targeted traffics due to ranked #2 for targeted keywords and top 5 for many related keywords, more clicks a day (50-60 UV a day and 15-20% CTR). It made me curious and wonder what happened to my affiliate. Refer to previous visitor amount in the past, I should get more sales as most of them are new visitors and come to my site through organic search results with targeted keywords. I emailed affiliate manager of product I doing promote but no response now. how sad.
Are you talking about the cell phone plans comparison website? I can't know for sure what happened, just wait a little longer, maybe they'll start buying again. Although I may be a little off topic, can I ask you if all your content is taken from the phonedog PWS api? I have used so far only the price view feature and I was curious if that's content from their API. Thanks!
No, I didn't mean about cell phone site and all contents all cell phone sites not come from PhoneDog Price View Just made specialty.
I have seen that type of action on a few of my sites. The sales crash for no apparent reason but they usually resume after a few weeks. Sometimes the original sales can be due to someone book marking your site-the sales roll in, then they disappear for a while.
I have experienced the same thing as you. The sale is good and easy at the first 10-20 days. Then, sale stopped, even with more targeted traffics. I really don't understand.
Due to this thread had been posted for a long time ago. My sales come back to normal already. From my experiences, the long you stay, the more targeted traffics you will need to make a same amount of sales. It seems not correlation between sales and amount of targeted traffics. Or I may did something wrong, who knows. No mate my product is not seasonal.
One thing you should always have in mind is to have like 2 or 3 products in your niche. Swap the products and know the one that brings in the most sales. If one stop performing, and their is no response from the owner, then switch to another one because it is not the product owner that is losing, you are the one who is generating the traffic and by extension you are the one loosing.
I've had a similar experience selling an indoor mat for dogs on a different affiliate network. I used google adwords to advertise it and on the first day I made some 30-40 sales and got $150/commission and on day 2,3,4 I got even more clicks but ZERO sales. This made me suspicious so I googled the company name and found so many negative reviews about unethical marketing practises they conduct on their clients (selling data / pushing products / playing games with shipping / etc).. I thought that if they treat their clients this way I'm not working with them and I suspect they may play games with their servers to break the cookies and somehow let it report as a click and not as a sale.. in other words I thought that logically my traffic should be causing sales but they're just not reporting them.. so I dropped them and moved on.. I hope this is not the case here.
