For proxies, if CPanel shows 800MB then actual should be 1600MB, though normally shared hosting servers cannot detect and charge for these additional 800MB.

That's a very rough estimate. The true usage can vary greatly based on the sites the users view.

I read through this thread and posted the URL's of the useful articles listed here on the Proxy Guides page at SkinMyProxy.

Reading through the material there should teach you most of what you could learn by reading through this thread -- but in much less time.

Yes, it's a rough estimate, it can vary. Specially if visitors view mostly html content (less images, videos, archives) from behind an ISP's or company's proxy because IE (most used browser) behind IP based proxy uses HTTP/1.1 (no compression) by default unless otherwise configured.

But this estimate is good if we plan to buy your own dedicated server. On dedicated server we cannot avoid being charged for that extra BW undetected by CPanel.

Unless you have unmetered which is the only thing I dare put a proxy on. It's a decent guesstimate though.

CPU speed also matters. A typical single core 2.8GHz P-IV cannot consume 2000GB with proxies on it unless their visitors keep downloading videos. Normally, it's CPU that becomes bottleneck for proxies because they need to process the html/css/js content. I would not go for unmetered with a P-IV or less. But unmetered is definitely the way to go for xeons and like.

Those $1 hosting are complete waste of time, and worth not even a single penny.

Just a heads up to say that my proxy lists are low right now, so get yourself listed fairly quickly (5 max per day)
    http://www.freeproxysite.com/add-proxy.php

PS. each 5 new proxies get top listing for 24hrs then join the rest of the lists ;) My site receives 35k+ uniques/month

It's hard say exactly, but 10GB is way too much, as pointed above.

2-4GB will be more pragmatic in my opinion.
