the catch is to buy a domain and promote it a littel until you get about 400-500 visitors a day and sell for double it costed you, lets say :
you bought a .com domain for 10$
    you promote it
you sell it for 20$ -> 10$ profit

    sell 5 => 50$ profit.

I'd say the key to domain names is finding a quality domain name first. Having visitors and content is good for selling websites, but domain names are all about the name.

Find a good domain name. One that is short, least amount of words possible, .com preferrably, and make sure the keywords are popular.

Put the domain name for sale on an auction site like sitepoint.com , ebay.com , or sedo.com then promote it on forums and other websites.

But i have a confusion in my mind i was
reading an article in some one blog. he has
written that today he has purchased four domains
of $22 now he will work on them and sell them
    for 5000$ in next year.

So my question is what time of work on domains
increases their value. because in my opinion any work
on the domain will be a work on a website having
contents. so we will not call him domain now it will
    call as website.

    Am i right?

    Pls make it clear.

    Regards

In terms of Internet & domain business, a domains always remains domain either loaded with content or not. So, domain age factor matters a lot when selling. Google give the importance to age factor of domain very much.
