I'm not a "guru" or a super successful Clickbank marketer by any means. I still have a proper "job" but I think I've come up with a plausible reason as to why our sales are fluctuating so much. As you can see from my screenshot above, I was killing it for the first part of this pay period and it's now dropping off again and I think I know why. It's all about a marketing law which I think many of us on here are forgetting. It's the law of competition. I'm a relatively new affiliate as I am sure many of you on here are. This means that we have possibly taken sales from someone else, etc, etc which means in general that the more affiliates there are on ClickBank, the less cash there is to go around and so a bigger fluctuation in sales. So I want to start a discussion about the possibility that there is simply too much competition in the marketplace for CB products especially to give us all a nice pipeline of sales?
then explain the reason why some people are going from 800/day to 26-50 dollars/ day or even 0/day. Competition may play somewhat of a role, but theres always competition no matter what. I think it has a lot to do with the CC not going through on the order forms. People just wont buy it, they may even be to lazy to switch to another CC, thats just the way it is.
It's not only competition. As you've read, we're getting the same amount of traffic to our sites. My PPC campaign hasn't changed for two months, getting the same amount of clicks every day, and sales still fluctuate. nadavs
Well competition could drop people's sales in that way especially if they got their sales from one source and that source was "invaded". Remember, it's easy to make money online, but it's also easy to lose it. It's just my opinion that's all. I don't claim to know exactly why CB's fluctuating so much but I can say that competition does play a role.
No...no....Competition can't make the sales to jump from almost $200 a day to $0 a day. That's something different. Probably, it's just FEBRUARY and it can also be the latest Clickbank's "update" in December
But why can't it? I'm looking at it from the point of view of the customer - more places to read up on the product / find a solution to their problem that they will probably just visit your site for info and visit a bunch of others for more info. I'm not accepting for one moment that ClickBank would willingly jeopardise their own income by ruining their system with a rubbish update!
popedope Well, if you think logically, normal fluctuation is a SMALL difference in sales. Even if there are thousands of affiliates promote something, there are even MORE people, who want to buy products.
blackman is right sales can not be messed up that bad from more competition. It is so clear to see that click bank is having problems. Proof : last week when the hops wernt showing up in the analytics page. This week my sales have gone back to normal hopefully they continue to stay that way.
sorry popedope but i'm not seeing any logic in your logic it just doesn't make sense. if people are seeing the same amount of traffic/hops and it's the sales that are dropping *significantly* then competition just doesn't account for that. it doesn't make sense.
exactly, if you have the same ammount of traffic, ur probbably going to get a near amount of sales/day give or take some flucuation. But with what im seeing it is like 600-800 to 0 dollars in 2 days straight. Its deff something and the best that i got is the CC problem
To the "Law of competition person" Unless your selling 100s of products a day that cost $1 than your sale volume is too small to even dent this "clickbank problem". There are some of us with a higher product sales volume that are currently trying new things to prevent this. If you are one of these people give me a PM. it is funny to talking about competition, we living in this world is just a competition. CB Competition is always serious, However recently I can't see competition, Just the sales drop like shit.
Having the same amount of traffic doesnt necessarily mean you'll get the same amount of sales!! It depends on what kind of traffic you getting, one day you might have a lot of people wanting to buy , then the next day a group that just wanna read and browse, they might even hop to your product but not want to buy
Of course you won't make the exact same amount of sales. BUT if you are getting traffic from the same sources each day and you see conversion rates fluctuating wildly with a large sample size then that indicates an issue. We are not talking about individual customers here but larger trends using larger sample sizes. For example if you are getting 5000 hops a day and you see this: Monday: 1% conversion (50 sales) Tuesday: 1.2% conversion (60 sales) Wednesday: 0.7% conversion (35 sales) all of that is reasonable enough... but if you get this: Thursday: 0% conversion (0 sales) This is not normal fluctuation. This means something is seriously screwed up. I'm not saying this is my experience but the person who posted about making $800 on most days and then having days of $0... well that is close to what I'm talking about here. If traffic is reasonably consistent and coming from the same places, there's just no reasonable explanation for that besides something being messed up in the tracking/order process.
