Hello all, I was wondering if someone could review my first proper site. The content is not all uploaded yet but the main page is more or less completed. It is for my brothers rec hockey team. www.sheffieldvipers.co.uk I'm still learning so any comments on design, coding etc would be greatly appreciated.
good site for a regional hockey team. i've not looked at the website in great detail, but once content is uploaded it will be pretty good!
When I "look" at a site the first place I go to is the HTML source. Yours is very clean and you have made a great starting template to further expand the site from. I would however, suggest that you look into using a free CMS (Content Management System) such as Joomla.com or Dupal.org . This will help you get content published to the site alot faster than hand crafting HTML pages. In addition, it'll also enable other members of the Club to publish and update content. And, when you are ready a CMS would be a great start for the Sheffield Vipers Fan site! Good work so far....
Hi, very nice site. Good design. But I want to tell you one thing. The image which you fix at header just cut in two or three part. Then use table tag to fix it together. It will decrease the loading time when you add more pages to your site and you can also add alt tag which is more useful in SEO term. Thanks

Nice start to the site I would recomend that you center the site too the screen. I think that it views better.
For this being your first site....it doesn't look bad at all. On your main nav. bar, when you mouse over the various links, a little bit of the bar on bottom is not getting highlighted. You might wanna change, but maybe you're not as anal as me.
very nice website there, i think sport website's can be the most hardest to create, especially the design. but its unique and looks very nice and clean, best of luck on the website.
The site is centered for me in firefox but in ie6 & 7 is aligned to the left. Also the menu bar seems to stick out to the right. Like to simple design.
Thanks for all the comments, as a new designer I will take all the comments on board. I tested the site in firefox and it is centered, any idea's how I can centre it in IE too? Also any idea how I can include all of the nav bar with the hover over?
Looks clean. Dunno what that bar is on the bottom for the sponsor. Why have something there that points to nothing? Can you remove that till you've got sponsors? Looks amateurish if you leave it on.
Thanks for the input, the team have sponsors just waiting for logo's tom come through. I would never release a site that is this incomplete if it was for anything other than a small group of hockey players.
