if you really want to learn seo read seo blogs (Rand Fishkin, Danny Sullivan, Bill Slawski etc.). it's best source of knowledge about SEO.

There is an SEO book over at chaoscure.com/ebooks There are dozens of free ebooks but they are in alphabetical order. SEO Made Easy is about 3/4 of the way down the page.

Chris Beasley's site also has a LOT of other information you'll find VERY useful as well, and not just for SEO either. The guy's a self-made millionaire who made his money by telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth and applying what he taught to his own business ventures (in other words, he didn't try BSing anyone, unlike some people) - don't you think it might be worth it to read what he has to say?
