Hello, I want to start promoting some affiliate programs via adwords but do not want to create my own landing pages but only directly transfer the person to the affiliate page(with my affiliate id). I assume my adwords score would be much higher this way because of high targetted pages - so i wouldn't have to do any optimization on my own. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you
I do have an experience with this. Before i started, i bought three ebooks. You can do this but you have to do it the right way so you dont end up paying too much for clicks. If you will like to know more or interested in the ebooks i bought, you can pm or email me so i can send you the links to the books. Good luck. Oh dont promote two many affiliates at a time, start with one, make it work before moving to another. Are you a member of commision junction? They have very good mechants.
No i am not member of cj yet. i know how to improve my quality score and all that since i dealt with adwords before but i dont know why would redirecting directly to the merchant lower my quality score?
Has your quality score been lowered? If yes, maybe your keywords are landing on the home page of the mechants website. Lets say for a shoe website, you are using "womens shoes" as your keyword, but your landing page is the home page of the shoe website, that can reduce your quality score. Or perhaps you are not having high click through, which can be caused by poor ad copy.
Apparently I have tried this and every time I have ended up with lower score. (I had assumed that since the merchant page has been created professionally to target the customers this would perhaps help me as well ) All my adgroups with direct linking have had lower scores with exceptions of 1-2 merchants where the competition from other affiliates was low.
i guess some of the merchants pages arent optimized and tightly connected to the keyword/s ...so in that case making my own landing page and then from there redirecting to the merchant would be a better option.
Depending on what mechant you are promoting, you might need some good quality content. People get turned off when they see sales pages. So be carefull when you build landing pages. Have you tried perry marshalls guide to google adwords? Its one of the two best books in the market.
thanks, ill check it out. how about combining whypark.com and affiliate since they update fresh content daily with relevant content ..what do you think?
Not landing page quality score, you mean keyword quality score Check redflymarketing.com/blog/10-ways-to-increase-your-adwords-quality-score-a-mini-case-study
"Individuals advertising for themselves or for their own businesses may only have a single AdWords account. However, your account may contain multiple ad groups and ads triggered by the same or similar keywords." - Google. so what does exactly mean? doesn't this reap the same benefits as creating multiple accounts?
