I'll see anything with JJ Abram's name attached to it. Star Trek looks fantastic (and I'm not a big Star Trek fan). Lost is the best thing on TV in years (well, tied with 24).

Hah. I'd feel that way if I was making $1,000 a day on at least 4 solid offers, until then, I'm still pursuing my Masters!

1 offer is great, 2 is golden, 3 means your on your way... 4 means the foundation is set. That's my short term goal over the next 4-6 months, 4 offers, $4000-6000 profit a day.

I just want to hit the $200/day range and then I am sure I can have enough data to use the same formula for incremental 'scaling'

You know really, I believe if you use your same marketing technique for other high traffic offers (such as dating, payday loans, flowers, auto insurance, etc.) that you use for ringtones it would really build that foundation... and you would be making Donald Trump bucks!

I have my own marketing method that I've been successful with and it translated well across other affiliate offers when I tested it. When I tried your method (of adding the content) and getting a lot of high traffic to my ringtone offers in conjunction to what I was already doing, it really gave me a nice boost of income.

Maybe I should buy you an Ipod as a thank you (not for the positive movie critique of Cloverfield... but for the ringtone advice!) :)

I think you may be the first person to come back and say some of my advice actually worked - so to me that's even better then an iPod! Hah, thanks for the offer though!

Glad to hear things are on the up and up.

Another question for the group regarding the content network:

If I am able to bid on keywords that have very little to do with my ad/LP, then doesn't that just defeat the purpose of Google showing relevant ads on a publisher's site?

seems like there would be some conflict there

    aj,

I will second that. Your advice on 'thinking outside of the box' has certainly helped me do just that.

Also, your reading suggestion has turned out to be quite productive.

J.J. Abrams is brilliant. I thought so way back when Alias first came on. Then we had LOST, even Six Degrees was pretty interesting even though it didn't go very far.

I haven't seen Cloverfield yet but I want to soon. I can't wait for Star Trek...and I AM a Star Trek fan. I am glad someone can save this franchise from the train wreck that Rick Berman has created.

    Now for a QUESTION...

I have been thinking about the thought process a LOT. Clearly, we don't want to bid on 'keywords' ringtones. We do, however, want our clickers to be in a 'buying state of mind' (cue Billy Joel music...lol).

Let's stick with the '24' example. We were thinking that creating a '24' t-shirt site or a '24' DVD site and inserting a '24' ringtones banner would get some clickers that were in a buying state of mind.

Why would we even bother to do THAT, I wonder. Why not just create the '24' ringtone site and then just BID on those '24' t-shirt or '24' DVD KEYWORDS.

This way, we get the cheap clicks and our ringtone ad appears on sites that sell t-shirts and / or DVD's with customers who are ready to 'buy' something anyway?

    Am I way off here?

P.S. - Two profitable days in a row now. Just a couple of dollars...but I'm thinking 'scale' here. Thanks. Sorry for the "War & Peace" length post. Got an ill family member...been away from the computer all day thinking about this stuff to keep me distracted. :)

^ Sounds about right. But instead of just bidding on 24 related stuff for a 24 site, why not also bid on Prison Break, Lost, Grey's Anatomy, etc. All the popular shows.

Ahhhh. I didn't mention that because I was testing my line of thinking. If you brought it up, then I would know my thinking is starting to go in the right direction.

I tested this on a zip-sub. Let's just say I created one around a comedian....I don't know, say, Steve Martin (not the one I used).

I made a list of 500 'Steve Martin' KW and entered those. I also created a list of 'Jerry Seinfeld', 'Dane Cook', 'Bill Murray' keywords etc.

So far, I've got my first profitable zip sub. Just a couple of bucks but I'm thinking 'scale' here. Fine tune it on a few more zip subs, then maybe I'll try the ringtones route. Progress is good.

Zip's are good - just keep a close eye on them. The advertiser will cut you off with no notice (network has no control).

I'd also only put max 150 keywords per ad group.

That's OK, I just figure if that happens, I can switch out the back-end offer.

Yes, I added a lot of KW, but I split them up...50 to 100 KW per AG only.

Mine never did, but I don't think they have any more notice or control that you do. Mine didn't seem to care either, one reason why I left CPA Empire.
