I've been trying to earn money with adwords and a couple ringtone offers from sites such as CPAEmpire and GlispaAds, but I've lost about $100 so far. I probably shouldn't have jumped in without learning more, but now I'm asking for your help so I can understand Adwords better and start making some money. Note: I'm not asking you to reveal secrets or anything like that, I just need a boost in the right direction so to speak. Thanks in advance. :)

this is probably too hard of a market to get your feet wet with. I would recommend looking into a different program. You will need lots of hands on experience and hand holding to make it profitable anytime soon.

Try something the pays out far less, but costs less to run.

There's alot of those on the networks...the less the person has to do for you to get paid, the better.

i would go with a consumer good that he is familiar with. Lets say he knows a lot about bicycles, he should look into a bicycle affiliate program since he will be well versed with the products and what consumers are looking for.

Switched to a zip submit, and as you all know, those pay low. But I've generated 3 leads for a total of $3.75, and spent $2.68 on adwords. Small profit for a 2 day period obviously, but at least it's a profit and I'm in the right direction. My only issue is that I've received 6 clicks, for an average cost per click of $0.45, which means for every 2.7 clicks I need 1 lead. Any tips?

Commision junction has very good merchants. One particular mechant i like is stubhub.com they 8% per out and about 4% convention rate. If you can spend 100 for clicks, you can promote this company. Oh stubhub.com is an ebay company. they sell concert, sports, theatre and broadway tickets.
