I am wondering if diggs can serve as back links and would they help your pr?

I know MSN recognizes them as backlinks

Yes it is a nice backlink from Digg, the real fun starts when you make it to the homepage on Digg and bloggers start blogging abt the same.

As a source for authoritative back-links — because that's where the value really lies — you ought to be looking elsewhere.

Use the likes of Digg for what they're good at, and that's driving traffic.

If you get a hit on Digg, you'll get back-links soon enough...

Then you're heading in the right direction, my friend!

Keep an eye on those visitors and see how they convert...

Are you using something like Google Analytics?

You can set up goals tracking for different CtA's (Calls to Action).

Plus, there's tools to track each different traffic source — average time, bounce rates, pages viewed, et cetera...

AWStats? Generally most stats programs will have a list of referrals etc. Which is always nice for finding how your web of links is expansing.

I don't think that Digg has the nofollow attribute set in their links, so it should count as back link.
