I don't quite agree with you on this. Undeniably, the first release of Vista was really buggy. However, I started using Vista Ultimate since end of last year and recently upgraded to the SP1, I have nothing but fantastic experience with Vista. I have not rebooted my system for weeks now and Vista is still running without giving me any headache.

    Thanks.

The arguement that vista requires a lot better system to run the xp does is a poor one...

Just look at the difference between windows 95 and xp. Theres a big jump in requirements for those (or at least in what you SHOULD have to make it run well).

I'm comparing 95 and xp because of time. There was a 6 year gap between 95 and xp and a 6 year gap between xp and vista. In 6 years a lot changes in the computer industry, thats why it would be unfair to compare 2000 and xp to xp and vista.

That said, Vista all the way. There's more too it then its new look.

THEY ARE ONLY MAKING USE OF NEW TECHNOLOGY!!

When XP came out the basic size of a hard drive when u brought a PC from a shop was what 40GB? now usually you get at least 120GB the general amount of ram was 128-256mb now its 1GB min.

no clue about processor speeds but im sure its about the same.

the hardware capacity has doubled. and so the software can make use of it.
so its only really people who havnt been able to keep up to date with general standards who are moaning.

We must remember that Vista is a totally new OS, writter from zero, while XP was an improved version of older OSes. Vista is the next logical step and patience and time will make it a reliable product. In the mean time, XP is still the good solution for windows lovers.

Vista is nice, only that to use it full power, you might want to switch to Vista 64.
Since regular 32 vista only allowed up to 3.9+ GB RAM. While in vista you will see the difference.

Using a home premium, even 3GB did not make any difference to the speed.

I would agree completly if a service pack came out for vista and a majority of the problems were fixed

Well the service pack is out and it does fix some major problems. So I think its safe to say Vista's worst days are behind it.

There are lots of programs that are more compatible with XP OS. XP is better than Vista.
