I ran through this article and I think paypal competitors should get the chance and paypal takes a break With all the hassle assigned with paypal payments and the charge backs you can get specially that most of our (webmasters) transactions are for sites/domains/content which are not tangible goods and risk of charge backs are high. While I personally recommend Moneybookers.com as paypal alternative but CNN.com has an article that gives 5 paypal alternatives which don't include Moneybookers (maybe because MB is UK based). Details in the article http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2008/fsb/0802/gallery.paypal_alternatives.fsb/index.html
Yep no Moneybookers tats strange , anyways I am not one of those whos sick of paypal, never had any problems with paypal,
For those saying never had a problem. Maybe you should start selling softwares to see how software pirates will deal with you and how paypal will support them. PS: Escrow is not a payment processor. they are just a middle man
An alternative to paypal is really a necessity now given the hassles associated with the verification and the commission one has to chuck out when transferring money from credit card to paypal in the case of unverified customers. No one should be allowed to become a monopoly in a particular field and if done, the service becomes poorer and you will become a beggar before the mighty. Competition is actually good in the interest of customers
It is good to have a few alternatives ready just in case you run into trouble at paypal, I am going to try some of these.
I personally use moneybookers and I don't like paypal because of charge back risks(I have experienced some problems in the past) . I also support alertpay !
Since 2Checkout decided to accept PayPal next to credit cards I'm seriously thinking of abandoning PayPal for good.
I agree with the previous posters about Moneybookers , its a payment processor everyone should work with
