paypal isn;t dead. they are very much alive and will be so for years to come. its an ebay company now, remember? and whats the deal with writing in bold? its painful to read through the post
Does anyone else here remember how they first heard of paypal? It was the year 199X, and I had just defeated a hippy that kept insisting on measuring me with a ruler. I would check my email and find at least one message: "Make $5 instantly, over and over!" My curious teen mind clicked on the email and found a writeup; Paypal is offering people $5 straight to their bank account just to sign up! You can even get your friends to sing up under you and get another $5! (insert affiliate link here). The competing spam mail of the time asked me to send five dollars to ten people on a list, then remove the top name from the list and add mine to the bottom. Ahh, those were the days, where pyramid schemes, MLM, and similar scams were at their prime. I miss those days, now I get poorly written letters saying someone will put a million dollars into my account as a 'trust' fund so they can smuggle it across the border. They want my name, address, blood sample, retinal scan, fingerprints, and complete copy of my passport. Of course, they'll give me a small portion of the money, not rob me blind! I digress from the tangent about those wish to point and laugh as I live on the street. Paypal made it's way where it is with sweet, sweet bribes. For someone else to usurp them in even a small fashion would need to not only have a good product, but sweet, sweet bribes. But they must be careful, less their bribes make an AOL of them.
Paypal's great, I might be testing how to reclaim money that I've been conned out of soon, if they don't give it me back, my opinion might change
Well, I just signed up for the service. I've never seen this before but I like this as an "alternative" to not only PayPal but to "credit cards".... If I can make it easier for my customers to purchase...why wouldn't I offer an alternative payment mode.
it's natural to see new technologies to evolve with time and present better solutions, good for users
I trust paypal only to a certain extent. Every single time I've got scammed or something like that happens, they just help the scammer. And let's see that's been 5 times. When will google come out with a payment system.... I'd wish they hurry up.
Paypal is in the clutches of the mega-corporate perpetualists, I wouldn't consider it "dead." This cellphone billing method, let's see what kind of fees are involved. I beleive it is possible for it to be a HUGE potential. Especially if it can only send product to the billing address because this would limit any fraud. I would be especially interested for my .mobi site? Also, I can imagine this being nice for one of my small consumable products such as pipescreens.com would be too simple and tedious to order with a credit card, people would prefer to use a cellphone.
guys when will you fed up opening these kind of threads! adsense dead! yahoo dead! paypal dead moneybookers dead! i think when you can't get what you want from somebody you re coming to dp and open a thread and announcing that they are dead! this is too cheap
That's because they care more about buyers then sellers. They know buyers have a ton of payment options, sellers don't. As a seller you can always try other payment processing services, but will your buyers trust them?... It already exist and it's called google checkout. But it's only available for US sellers
