Is PR6 link of value? How much?

Given Google crack on paid links, will it still worth to pay for PR6 link?

And how much should it be for a tech / software related link?

A pr6 link would certainly help you in the serps.

    It pushes your site up.
But when it´s paid google maybe knows and bans you but you should try.

When getting a new link like that, how long do you think it would take for your site to start moving up in the SERPS? Two weeks?

paid links are being penalized, so if you buy PR links, make sure it doesn;t look anything like paid links. and how much it cost varies, i bought PR6 links for as low as $10 /month and it goes al the way to 20-30 or more depending on the site. if you decide to buy links, make sure you buy it for long term to get the benefit from backlinks

Irrelevant PR 6 links are of no value I guess, even with a good anchor text., unless you have very little competition in the serp for your target keywords or niche.

I sponsored a Theme, and FORTUNATELY a PR 6 blogger took a liking to it, and has been using it for 3 months now. I am still at the same SERP for the said anchor text from before I got the PR 6 sitewide :), so I guess, good ole relevant in content links are the best.. Oh, it did boosted my PR... So i guess it would still work for directory owners and link sellers.

Depends on the site, placement, number of outbounds etc.

You cannot simply make up a figure from general data.

i would say around $40 to $50 a month for a pr6 link, maybe more, it all depends on whether its site-wide or not.

Traditionally I see text links in the form as sidebar or bottom text links.
Now a lot of people are instead selling posts on blogs with PR.

Which would you think is better to buy?

I'm seeing people now are more careful in have sitewide links, because it seems google may tend to discount them a lot, probably treat those as interlinking or paid links.

    PR means nothing..it does'nt mean a thing.
if you have 5 minutes, go to webmaster radio
and take a listen to some former Google employes
have to say on PR..and how it means ZERO.

Don't select way to buy a link, it will give you pleasure for sometime.
But you will have to prepare for panalties.
