Hello All: Expectations is the key to any campaign for President. We have seen in this entire crazy campaign. Early on Hillary was expected to win and now it is shifted to Hillary. Some people like the favorite no matter who it is so that shifts votes (we wrote about this in our blog). But it begs the question... what do you expect from the next U.S. President?
I expect they will lie to the American people ALOT. I expect them to go all out to support wealthy corporations and shaft the middle class and poor.
I expect some form of change. I'm looking for a President that has their own ideals and morals and will stand by them even when the decisions are tough. I don't want just more of the same.
Just a follow-up question, you don't think GW has his ideals and morals and stuck by them? You may not like them, but I don't think he has ever wavered. He is staunchly pro-life, war hawk, etc. Never really changed those positions, they just aren't very popular to many people.
You tell'em sister! I expect more war, more corruption, more lies, and more empire. I will be very disappointed if we get a President who does not live up to my expectations of evil.
I expect that if McCain is elected, nothing will change. The same goes for Obama and Clinton. Huckabucka**ckabee would install a theocracy.
I expect him to not get us into a nuclear war. I know my expectations are low but so is the bar that has previously been set.
If Obama wins, things will change. Will they be for the better, yes. Will it hurt during the process of change, yes. Remember, the change that everyone wants so bad isn't that simple. Americans want change without any scarfice or work on their part, guess what it isn't going to happen that way.
Don't take this as my being confrontational, but I was hoping you could explain in more detail, 1. How you know things will change. 2. What will change. 3. How it will be better. 4. That it will hurt. I understand you might be theorizing, but that's ok. I'd like to become exposed to your theories in that case.
1. I don't, but I'm assuming if we empower someone who hasn't been corrupted by politics for the past 20-30 years we might actually have someone who is really for the people. 2. I'm hoping our current issues with trading and lending practices, not also to include our over seas view of our country. Imagine, if we elect a black American with the name Barack Hussein Obama, just that simple move will change the view of American politics. I also "believe" Obama can achieve about 40% of what he talks about, that is opinion not fact. 3. It will be better because Americans will have to sacrafice and work for things to be better, as hes stated over and over again. What other canidate has done that? Change = Sacrafice. 4. Change will hurt, if you think anything that "needs" to be fixed can be fixed without sacrafice well you should be a republican It's time for American to get serious, we have this imagine of ourselves that has allowed this politicans to get away with anything. Why? Because Americans "don't do anything", sure we talk about it, we argue about it, we even make websites about it. But actually is done to stop the corruption, rape and pillage of our great nation? Absolutely nothing.
For 80 years we've had presidents who tell us we need to sacrifice our wealth, liberty, or time to make the country a better place. Its for the society, its for the greater good, blah blah blah. Its the generations who have sacrificed freedom who gave our government the power it has now to interfere in our lives, economy, or in unrelated nations halfway across the world. When he says change, and assures us this change will require us to do more for the government, I am certain that this change is just more of the same. Oh yeah, expectations... if a Democrat gets elected I expect taxes will go up and I'll be investing in the newly subsidized insurance companies to get my money back.
What have you scarficed? You will have to "change the way you live" if we are to change anything. I don't think you have a concept on what must be done to save not only our economy but our planet. We cannot continue to live like its a free for all.
What have I sacrificed? Well, for my generation I've given up claim to about 20% of the wealth I create in my lifetime - just to pay for what the previous generations have consumed or expect as an entitlement promise. I'm not even including the part of my income that needs go to current expenses like needless wars or corporate subsidy or ineffective (and mostly illegal) federal agencies. To fix the economy, we have to stop living outside of our means. This means not only will I have to pay off the social security and medicare obligations the government has brought about, I will have to accept that those benefits won't be around when I'm old enough to need them. The government has only become a means of consuming wealth that does not or does not yet exist. Its the market's judge jury & executioner who determines which companies pay taxes and which ones collect taxes. Its going to save us if we just give over more power & money, right? I studied history too, and I have heard that one before. It never seems to end well...
Don't corporations also sign the checks that the middle class cashes? Have you ever thought that by attacking the corporations the checks to their middle class employees may stop?
