Question Regarding Reputation

I don't know why but i have been getting too many negative reputations
My current point score is 11

I would like to know if it reaches in negative will i be able to post in B/S/T section ?

What can be the potential disadvatage of it ?

i am member for more than 4 months now. my question is if i get a overall Negative reputation will i be allowed to post or not ?

those guidelines are probably for new user i guess what if an old user gets an overall red reputation will he be allowed in that case ?

Yes, you still allow to post but not at BST forum since you have overall red REP

you may get red REP because you RED rep others

 

Yeah I'm actually confused about reputation as well... I'm not really sure what it's for other than having a green color like the layout of the site... I acutally like red better xD anyway heres some rep to help you out!

 

reputation has nothing to do with posting....if u have lots of -ive reps then i think you will get banned before you could stop posting..

 

Nah, lots of red reps won't get you banned but infractions do. Once that bar under your post turns red you won't be allowed to post in B/S/T. I guess.

Also, you are aware that once you give red rep to someone you also get one. Aren't you?

No, no. You don't want to do that. At least not deliberately.

Digital Point has tens of thousands of members. A relatively small percentage makes flippant or meaningless posts. By far the large percentage of DP members are here asking meaningful questions and/or replying with useful information. If you're here to interact with that majority, professional-minded group, then you don't want to make irritating posts that will get you red rep. That will tend to alienate you from the very people whose trust and help you should be wanting on DP.

 

i know that..i was just saying that if a person has lots of -ve reps then the chances are that the person is a scammer and the mods will ban him neway....i know banning is done through infractions...
