I made a funny news blog - HugeMistakes.com

Hi guys,

I frequent DP for some time now but I have never made blog. So now I made one and I think it is wise to put it up for a review.

At first I made a Blogger blog, but after reading about all the advantages of having a wordpress blog on an own domain, I decided to switch over ASAP.

So I registered a domain and now i have it running at HugeMistakes.com

I had a little trouble getting it up and running, seeing im a real noobie webmaster, but I see those as learning moments.

So anyway, cannot think of anything more to write down now, hopefully that will come when I get some feedback.

Dont hold out with critique, I can take a hit ( I think )

Way cool! I was engrossed in the stories that I forgot I was over there to look at the site I love your use of graphics with each of the stories and the layout of the site. GREAT job!

But there have to be things I can improve on the website right?

 

Can you put a little more padding around the top of your header? I'm viewing in Firefox and the top of your header graphic appears to be cut off. Colors are nice and sharp. Have you considered keeping the font on your headlines the same, but changing the body text font to something like Arial (without serifs)? Serif fonts can be hard to read online, especially when your text size is small.

I like the readings but don't like the header, It doesn't make any sense or there is not relation between header, site and text.

 

It's a nice site! You've certainly got interesting content.
My suggestions would be to try and make the Menu font differ from the article font; the site has quite a formal look to it - straight corners in the red header bar and menu tops. Rounding off these corners may give the site a more informal feel, in keeping with the content; the URL text title in the top right looks OK, but an image, using a more colourful font may look better.

The font for all your headers on each table looks pixelated, or of a lower quality.

You could use a new banner maybe, but maybe not, since your site is very simple and clean. Something too over the top might kill the feel.

I love the 'star' icon as your bullets.

Not much else I can say...looks sharp.

Well I intend to keep a 'clean' layout indeed.Those stars cane with the template Also I try to have the page load pretty fast.

Golly. Interesting stories. Do you have to find them on the net. Must be very time consuming. Entertaining though.
