So, to make the banner less cheesy, should I change the font, the description text, etc? What parts should I keep, and what parts should I change? Thanks for the feedback.
The giant feed icon in the top right needs to be fine tuned because it looks awkward. Perhaps it's the dimensions, or quality, or image itself? You need a new banner/logo is right. It looks like child's work AND it doesn't match or overlay properly with the rest of your site. Simple to fix though. I like your domain name a lot though. The bullets on the right side, for the lists in the sidebar thingy...are out of the box. Might wanna fix that? I favorited your site because I like the content. All of your posts were something I thought about one point in my mind and it's always good to see someone else with the same ideas and general opinion about it. You definitely seem knowledgeable as far as making money goes so I'm kinda excited to see what comes of it. P.S. Maybe I can make you a banner if you give me some ad/link space?
I'll try and fix the bullets, as well as get a more standard looking feed icon. And for the banner, if you'd like to make me one, I'd be willing to put a link in the footer that says Banner by (then a do-follow link to a site of your choice) and leave it there as long as I use that banner. PM me if you have other ideas/requests/questions. One request I have for the banner (if you do decide to do it) is to include a red line going jaggedly up, similar to the part in the current banner. Haha I'm laughing my ass off because... I went into Photoshop and started to make a banner for you, and my current font that I was using is the EXACT same font you used for your banner. That boggles my mind.
I like the green actually - reminds me of money I do like the font. In the links on the left you'll want to remove the Hello World! post that is the standard thing from Wordpress and on the left you might want to leave the feedburner track off until you have a bit more readers. I removed the hello world link, but I decided to leave the RSS feed counter in tact for now. I'm going to see how fast I can reach 100 subscribers, hopefully I'll be able to do so within the first week of the blog being open.
Eventually I might buy a custom theme for it, but I'll see. If I did, I'd take it out of funds earned from that blog only so that it would fit in with the zero and up experiment part of it
Anyone know what the RSS "barrier" is? I've read that once you get over a certain amount, people think it's fairly big. I'm guessing that's about 100 subscribers or so?
The overall site has a web 2.0 feel to it, then you see the logo/header and it just does not flow with the rest of the site. If I was you I would pay some to redo the logo. Also the white space on the left and right seems somewhat pointless since there is no content in that area when you scroll down. And the last thing is the GO button on the search should have some more style to it.
