I would like to find out how I can get good backlinks for blogs. I signed up with technorati, but I would to find out more about other sites that will have backlinks to blogs.

-write articles and submit to article directories and in your resource blog include a link to your blog or even specific blog posts.

-give away something free that has a link back to your blog, eg: ebooks, templates, themes, etc.

-submit your site to as many blog and rss feed directories as possible.

    Good luck!

Try to approach fellow bloggers in the same niche and network with them. Nothing beats good relationship IMO.

Start getting your posts out onto the various social bookmarking services like Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit etc., this will usually bring in additional backlinks pretty quickly.

    Networking with other bloggers.

Write very in-depth posts and send an email to large(popular) blogs in your topic, if its good they might link back to it. Don't overdo this.

Build a community in sites like MyBlogLog etc., this will usually help.

Submit to search engines and directories.

    Thanks for the replies!
I'm aware off Digg, stumbleupon, will have to look at Reddit. But what about the etc.
A list of some good et ceteras would be appreciated!

I sometimes do that - These are however usually people that blog over an abc.blogspot.com site as well. I'm looking for other free blogging sites as well!
... Yeah otherwise it's spamming. A good article does however use up some time to be researched and written.

Again here the etc. would be a good to know.

Done that and will do so in the future.

Comment on other blogs in related niches. Don't spam, but try to say something on most of their posts. You get recognition, traffic, and a link.

I agree with all of these responses. Its not bad to move out of your niche but own it 1st.

... You mean submitting first to a substantial amount of sites in ones own genre. Well, that's how prefer it. I submit to sites that are at least using similar keywords. I take an educated guess that this becomes an advantage later with search engines.
