Well I've tried to run a few campaigns on the content network there after hearing about your success but, I'm not getting any impressions. Do you have to do the same thing on the content network, raise your bids high in the beginning and bring them low gradually? Or should I just try to find niches with low bids right off the bat? How do you check how much your bids are going to be? Just go into your adwords account and start the campaign and see what bids you get? Is there any kind of tool out there that will tell you the bids for those keywords before starting a campaign?

Also do you think it's necessary to only browse for specific sites to advertise on (site-placement). Or do you think you can still see results from the entire content network?

Last question, landing pages, did it take you a while to tweak them, did they have a major factor in your success? Do you have a lot of relative content on there to the niche? Is the content really really good and useful where it stands out from other sites? Not just some content talking about how good something is?

    Thanks for your help

man I am away from this thread a day or 2 and I have so much reading to to. Anyway, abcd if your bids are $.30 to $.40 on the content network, then you are probably bidding an more competitive keywords. The secret is to find cheap keywords that people who want to buy your product will search for. Also, you can bid higher, then decrease it over time to better your profit. BTW guys I don't even have an adwords account or Azoogle or clickbank or anything. All the info I am sharing has come straight from this thread so if you read the WHOLE thing you will be much more informed and probably more successful.

Yes, abcd, it takes at least a couple of hours to get impression on Content Network...sometimes a day.

Be patient and the impressions will come. If they don't, bump up you bids a bit.

    Hey aj,

    1) You ever try CPM instead of CPC on a site targeted campaign?

    2) Have you seen any ringtone offers that so NOT require a PIN confirm?

    1) Yea, I got raped by it (as in I set a $300 budget, walked away for the afternoon/night, came back charged $370 for like 60 clicks). Never really went back to look at it since then.

    2) I don't think so?

Start all new CN campaigns at .30

    Wait a 1-2 days

-> No/little impressions, up to .60 (if your budget/ROI can afford it)

-> Tons of impressions/clicks/action -> lower 10% every other day till you see a huge performance decrease.

If there's no QS, shouldn't your ad appear no matter how much you bid?

Well, I've been using Adwords for less than a week so you can probably understand my situation. I feel the same way I did when I first started selling on Ebay. I didn't know SQUAT.

It will but how much it'll appear is another thing.

AJ pays about $.05 a click so he must really be hitting every single category he can in the content network.

So AJ, you said it can take up to a week to appear in the content network? Why are some people saying a few hours? I currently have my max CPC set to $.20. Do you think that's enough?

Because it varies... ads are manually approved. I've had some ads start getting impressions within 2-hrs and others it took 2 full days.

There is no way for anyone to know if .20c is enough without knowing what the niche is. If it's a very competitive market it won't be enough.

In order to get the most impressions/clicks you need to be in the top 1-4 ad position. Once you start getting impressions it will say what your average position is.

Yea exactly. Just don't go getting disgruntled and pausing or deleting a CN campaign after a few hours or a day if its not getting impressions because it will kick to life eventually.

I'm not AJ but I would guess AT LEAST $50 to test a single campaign.

I would do 3-4x the CPA. So if it's a $15 ringtone offer, I'd probably fire between $50-60 before killing the campaign.
