People still don't listen though, even when the seller states no more pms please, or no more requests please.

Often if a post drifts on to page 2, people will use the quick reply box on page 1 and not notice the OP new posts.

Then the OP would need to contact the mods to edit his OP.

:eek:There was a time when I used to love the BUY/TRADE section. I bought quality reports, junk reports and scripts etc but it seems as soon as someone posts an e-book/report or even a script the "I WANT A REVIEW!" cries never seem to stop.

Okay, maybe a review is a good idea but I think once a person reviews the report without paying it then the real value of the product declines. It's like saying "let me see your report" and then when the person reads it they decide to leave an average review. Come on guys, this does not happen in other forums. Why do DP members always want a review copy? Most of these members come from India and then the trend is now being copied by our fellow Americans.

Lets all quit the I want a review copy, even if you are a senior member. I think you should also decide whether a purchase is worth paying for by asking questions or a refund if it was not a good purchase.

    Thanks

I voted for puting an end to those type of posts. If the seller is giving review copies, chances are he is going to state that.

I think you've summed up parts of the problem very well, KUSHI.

I think the rule should be that if the OP says "No review copies available", or something like that, that anyone who posts asking for a review copy get an infraction. I just posted a eBook sales thread, stating NO REVIEW COPIES LEFT. ALL review copies have been given out and I've still had 5 people ask for them.

Review copies should be given and asked for only on private message if you ask me... An infraction should be given if it's not abided. Ban is just too hard thing, there will be a lot of new joiners who will not know about this rule... ;)

I say don't ban them, but rather give an infraction for it. I hate seeing people begging for a review copy of something that's well written and then turn around and never say anything. I've had that happen on my e-book. I gave 2 review copies away and they never came back and reviewed it.

No... not ban the people, ban the act of asking for reviews and infract those who don't comply.

I agree with the suggestions made here.

I just posted my first ebook (self-authored) and I was immediately hit with a "Review copy?" post. THat's all it said. I'm going to request reviews from people instead. I already checked out the requestor and couldn't find a single review in all post and threads.

Thanks for posting this thread. The review copy issue (for ebooks) never crossed my mind until I posted in buy/sell-content here.

    Best wishes,

    Mike

No imo, people dont want water down the drain, & even its bad to give a review to the same guy all the time. Everybody will feel bad about it.

    What a super bump.

They are banned, unless the seller says I am providing review copies, then you will get an infraction.

This stuff is already covered by the new rules. Posting to ask for a review copy is treated the same as posting to say "send me more information" or "PM me." If the OP doesn't say they're giving reviews, don't ask. If they are, PM them to ask. If they tell you to post in the thread to claim a review, use the report button to let the mods know - if you do what they say and post in the thread, you'll both get an infraction.
