I'm wondering if this tiny url service will succeed

i started a tiny url service and just wanted a few opinions on the look,
functionality, legality of having a url so close to the legendary tinyurl.com.

also this is a phpfaber tiny url script, which i'm told is buggy and no longer supported.
my config.ini.php has mysteriously been rewritten twice now, both times i have
lessened permissions even further so we'll see. (this little tidbit probably belongs in the php forum)

my plan is to upgrade to phpFaber's urlinn script ($60) which offers more features
and hopefully make it more popular.

I used that same script for our tiny url service, http://www.isaraurl.com, but customized it some. It was nice but most people just used it to hide their spam links and eventually our webhost forced us to remove it because of all the spam complaints they were receiving. Where ever there's a free service there our spammers taking advantage of it. Be careful.

As far as the name I would SERIOUSLY consider changing it. That is WAY too similar! It's like naming a web portal Ya-hoo.com . It just wreaks of being unprofessional and desperate. Think of your own name and create your own brand. And then, if you're successful, others will copy your name. lol :)

    Good luck!

thanks for your opinion, your certainly entitled to it.
the script you refer to is very buggy and for that reason
i upgraded as i planned. this new version is better suited.

looks better too, at least i think it does. of course there is
    always room for improvement.

Best of luck with your site.

I'm not sure how much tinyurl services are used these days, and i see no insentive using your over the original tinyurl.

Also it's a very much type in audience, and having a dash may hurt, but good luck anyway!
