Build on an old web site or make new?

I am going to put up a script that shows 3000 articles, also called an article site. And the traffic will come from search engines.
I have a dilemma. I can choose to put the article script on an existing web site that has about 9000 pages indexed in Google. That existing web site has many inlinks and is solid placed in Google. If I put the articles on a new web site everything will start from scratch. What do you think? Will the exisiting pages on the existing web site suffer if I suddenly put in 3000 new pages that will share the link juice?

 

I would use the old website "if" the new content is related in some fashion. If the old website has nothing to do with articles or an article site I would considering starting a new website. Either way do one of the following....

1) Add only about 20-30 articles a day. (old site)

2) Add all articles at once "with" robots.txt blocking all indexing till it's complete. (new site)

 

Why is it better to add only 20-30 articles a day? All the articles are unique by the way.

 

I got surprisingly few suggestions on htis one. I suppose the members of DP dont know SEO

Do you mean that you created articles using some script or software ??
Or the articles are original written by Copy writes ??

 

I read somewhere in the internet if you build a new website and it suddenly contains 3000+ articles (even though each of them is unique) Google might be suspicious thus will penalize your website. Can anyone confirm on this?

 

i too have read this somewhere but right now i wud not b able to show the exact place though...

so i too add few pages daily and not 3k in one go... i would like to Recommend to add few pages daily which wud be SE frdly and also well in indexing those pages too. Do not add 3 k pages at once ..se may count it as spam or penalize u for this

Moderation would be the best rule of thumb. Don't make it look like you are trying to manipulate the Search Engines.

 

The articles are not autocreated by script or software, they are just unique and fully readable and useful for any reader that is interested in the subject.
I dont know why Google should see this as spam as it is not spam, its just a lot of content.

 

If you can build upon your existing site, why posting on new site?

Of course, the content should be related for otherwise you will dilute the theme of your site.

 

Thanks Hendry. The theme of the site is very diversed already. A lot of topics really. I will go for the old site.
