What follows are many astonishing hemp and marijuana facts.
Historical :
• During the 1930s, the American media propagated numerous false stories as marijuana facts and depicted weed as an extremely dangerous drug, thus marijuana and hemp were effectively banned in 1938.
• Hemp has an estimated 50,000 non-drug commercial uses including paper, textiles, fuels, food and sealants, but these uses are also banned by existing laws.
Medical Marijuana Facts:
• No one has ever died from marijuana use.
• Marijuana does not lead to physical dependency.
• Marijuana is less dangerous than tobacco and people smoke less of it at a time.
• No independent government panel that has studied marijuana has ever recommended jail for users.
• Marijuana leads to non-violence and pacifism.
• Marijuana for medicinal use is also gaining renewed recognition.
• Marijuana is a medicinal herb that has hundreds of proven, valuable therapeutic uses - from stress reduction to glaucoma to asthma to cancer therapy, etc.
• Marijuana was a major active ingredient in 40-50% of patent medicines before its ban.
• Marijuana could replace at least 10-20% of prescribed drugs now in use.
These marijuana facts are but a few of the many more unannounced marijuana facts that differing authorities have attempted to keep from the public.

Well, you have to ban all natural products which produce drugs, because you cannot patent a plant or any other naturally occurring bio-matter.

Ban the natural stuff, replace it with patented synthetics, and funnel money to the UN so they can use Codex Alimentarius to regulate it all.

Massive profits, and a rejection of the natural world. Corporate ecstasy, enabled by the fascist paradigm.

Do you have any scientific proof to back up your claims or are these so called facts real because you posted them on an online forum?

I know the non-drug commercial uses are accurate. The word "cannabis" actually means "useful." Prior to the U.S. revolution there were British laws requiring all landowners to produce some for use of the royal navy (ropes & sail canvas).

Anyway, the idea of using plants for medicine isn't crazy stuff, everything from aspirin (a chemical from a tree root) to most pain & depression meds (opiates) come from plants. Of course antibiotics are considered the foundation of modern western medicine and thats from a freaking mold...

The Mayo Clininc has a more moderate, skeptical argument:

I think marijuana should stay banned forever.

Legalizing the plant may lead to decreased black market demand all over the world, so that means we might have to loosen the stranglehold on the lower classes of society. I mean, what if everybody realizes that marijuana is relatively docile compared to alcohol? What if people all over the world start treating it as an everyday commodity? God forbid that! :O

I don't think I can stand to see our politicians wrestling with the idea of not being able to circulate "illegal drugs" on the street and then have people arrested for "possession." Seriously, do those broke-ass lower-class idiots really think they stand a chance? Yeah right . See, it's our job as a society to make sure that we dispel their fantasies of "better income opportunities" and "racial equality" - Good ONE!

After all, we need them to fill up our prisons... There's never enough slave labor, you know.

How do you do all this without busting a sweat? Keep w--d illegal.

If marijuana was legalized, it would cost big brother tons of lost revenue from the WAR ON DRUGS.

In the US it is against the law to make products from hemp fiber, yet we import over 700 tons of hemp fiber products (clothing, etc) from other countries every year!!

Meh, hundreds of automobile accidents have marijuana as a factor by it's self. I'm sure those people were bloody swell when they got out of those automobiles. The people they hit were prolly just as happy.
Yes alcohol kills people on the roads, and prolly smoking is a nasty distraction (I am assuming), but those couple hundred people now don't have to worry about their liberty's anymore, or their health or laws, or anything on that matter. They can sit happily in their wheel chairs, casts and coffins.

I wouldn't mind if Marijuana is illegal, but what I do hate is the War on Drugs. Weed is illegal, but honestly it's damn easy to get ahold of it. The "War on Drugs" will not decrease the use of Marijuana effectively.

Thats sort of impossible to prove it as the cause...If that's really the best argument against pot then we should have banned alcohol years ago. Of course, the stoned driver is probably the one going 5 under in the slow lane and the drunk guy is the one tailgating and honking.

We tried to ban alcohol, that went well:rolleyes:
Sort of not impossible actually mate, they just calculate how much pot is in your system and thats that. A number of people were high when they caused these accidents.
The less people that have to die in this world because some morons decided to get high, the better.

You can't really test the blood stream for recent use. Its not possible to tell if someone smoked a lot a month ago, or a little bit three hours ago.

Banning weed is working about as well as the ban on alcohol...but honestly, which one is more dangerous?

Depends how much you take and what you define as dangerous mate.
Slow driving is not necessarily safe driving. Otherwise the autobahn would be the worlds most dangerous road.

Hemp will not get you high. You can smoke hemp rope for days and get nothing but a headache. The stuff under your sink is as dangerous as marijuana and meth can be made with things bought over the counter and that stuff will destroy you.

I'd say half of the teen and adult population in New Zealand have smoked pot in the last year.

No we know how gauharjk comes up with his brilliant threads. :D

I always suspected it was drug-induced, but couldn't prove it.
