Accepted as Expert by Ezine Articles!

Yay! I was counting on not hearing from them for a week or two. It only took a few days though, as I just got my email.

Accepted and put at expert author and featured on the front page - is that good or is everyone accepted at that status?

I am glad that wait is over, and of course happy that I got in on the first submission. :)

I think everyone's accepted at that status. Congrats on getting your first article approved though. :)

Congrats on being accepted by them. For your information, ezinearticles has a policy of placing everyone that is accepted as an expert author. There afterwards, they have two advanced levels (Basic Plus Author and Platinum Author) for the authors, which I would say takes a bit of hard work to get into. So, get into your writing mood. I wish you the best.

Keep that energy up and you'll do fine. Once you complete 9 more articles, you'll be accepted into Platinum status (assuming there are no errors with the articles)

I have reached the basic plus author status there. I really like the strict norms at ezinearticles. It definitely keeps spammers away.

I got 'Expert Status' as well, it may be that if you are doing any kind of analyses, they consider you doing 'expertise'. I submitted about 3-4 articles last year.

You're kidding, right? There are currently no "norms" with EzineArticles, which I detailed on one of my blogs several weeks ago (editors were so incompetent that they didn't even know their own basic rules - one would reject something and another would approve it unchanged, and vice versa). I heard from them after that post, with claims that they're working on drastically lowering their error rate (and I mean basic things, like editors who can't count to four to know what paragraph something is in). I certainly hope they're working on it, but I very highly doubt anything's "normal" just yet.

They're also awful at keeping spammers away. Have you ever actually looked at more than just a few articles there? There's so much re-hashed garbage, it's not funny. There was one link spammer here on DP several weeks ago showing off his profile and how he was able to spam ezinearticles by rewriting the same article more than a dozen times for links, and they couldn't be bothered to do a simple search of their own content to stop him from littering the site with that garbage. They're a spammer's playground, and they know it. It's not likely to stop - if it did, they'd get FAR fewer submissions and wouldn't be top dog for article marketers wanting to do nothing but spam the site for links.

Yeah I've found that. When you are actually looking for something there you often end up reading the same point over and over again just from a different persons style etc.

    Sucks to be honest :(

I can't agree with you more. I have had these new editors sending back my article submissions giving funny reasons. I really doubt how serious they are with their work

If they are setting it right, they got to do it fast.

What's funny is they said one of mine was "too salesy". It was a step by step that was basically a list that had no mention of a product at all. I think they flagged it because it had a link in the copy. One link to a free pdf tutorial. So I removed the link and resubmitted. Then I looked at other content littered with links to affiliates and sales pages in the middle of the copy.

So if any one got the strict editor is was me.

Well looking @ what others have to say about ezinearticles, I too seem to have gotten the same mod as you.

But it is a lot better than other article directories which do not manually check submissions. If anyone out there has a list of good article directories kindly post them here.
