Well I'm making mmadness.net now and I'm trying to decide in a board type. Be it Wordpress and have a link to SMF on the side, or SMF with Tiny Portal.. What do you guys think I should do? This is going to be my major project I hope. Any suggestions to help get members for this sort of site is appreciated as well. Its based around Mixed Martial Arts.

SMF isn't good? I've used SMF for all my sites seeing how it fits my needs ;x Any reason why PHPBB3 over SMF?
Because there are lots of stuffs like themes and MODS available for PhpBB compared to SMF. Though PhpBB3 is new, I like its ACP and everything!
I'll look into it tomorrow. Do you have any suggestions though to get more members? I'm hoping to get enough members so I can put ads up that would fund my MMA classes..
I say go with SMF if you are going for free. They also have seo mods if you want. If you want a paid for version then definately go vBulletin. If you are looking for SMF mods just google it and there are tons of sites!
