Well I've used Adsense for some years now. And my conclusion is that the revenue has decreased significantly since I first signed up and got started. I used to have up to 1500 USD a month, now I'm lucky if I have 300 lol. It's kinda hilarious, I get 6 clicks, and the total payment I get for ALL 6 clicks are USD 0.06!! That's 1 freakin cent a click. And this happens more and more and even though my visitor rate increase, and my CTR increase, my general income decrease... AdSense seem to be either dying out, or they are giving people who get many visitors less than people whom get few, so they can earn more themselves. Or is there any other good explanation to this phenomena?
i'm noticing the same thing. it feels like i'm giving away my ad space to google. i get such a huge range of pricing it just baffles me. some ads(very few) get $1.50 or more and then i get clicks that go for 2 or 3 cents.
Yea, Google must fix this. Its the only thing thats keeping it famous. Im going to be making the google killer soon, and its going to be better, so make sure you use its adsense rather then google's. Because of the fact that Google Adsense is used so much, people dont want Google, their payer, to die. But if adsense dies, nobody would care about Google.
$1500 a month i think it's due to not many adsenser and no smart prices. but now, there are many adsenser who compete each other also have smart prices.
I have a YPN account and it does pay better, but the quality and quantity of ads sucks so bad that I end up making less because the CTR is so bad.
This thing has to happen because of overall quality of publishers. There are many (I bet 70-80%) of publishers who made site just for adsense and brought garbage traffics to advertiser. That's why Google have to launched smart price and other factors to control amount of publishers to get paid. If this continue I wonder if advertiser still need traffics from "content network" and they might use only "search" for their advertising. However, Google is still the biggest player in this field. YPN is not accept international sites while others look junky. (Widgetbucks is the case)
Yeah, go to YPN but only if you want to see a program that is much worse than Adsense. Been there, done that. Back to Adsense. Adsense forever. In the 2 or 3 years that YPN has been in beta, they've never been able to figure out how to present relevant ads.
Well they also cant figure out relevant search results in there search engine so that could play a role. But to be honest google sucks now.. looking back at last years stats to this years it makes me sick.. Last year got like 2,000 - 5,000 impressions per day and not very many clicks and got X amount.. This month of this year i get 20,000 - 28,000 impressions lots of clicks and make the same X ammount that i did back in 2007
joecool6101: Exactly! And that is the thing! And what is the reason for this? Does it mean advertisers have to pay 10 times less now than before, or that google just keep 10 times more of the profit than before, and only leaves the spare changes for their publishers? That's the thing I'm concerned about, as I used to have a nice income myself, but then suddenly it decreased and my clicks are worth shat... Even though i made more money when I had less visitors before, and lower CTR. Something's not right here!
Everybody could guess, but it might relate to the poor economy and the fact that companies are spending less on advertising, and that there are fewer advertisers, which reduces competition, which reduces ad prices, which reduces our revenue. Just guessing.
This makes sense i hate to admit it but i think you might be right, but at the same time advertisers are not paying less for each click it seems like google is taking more and more money
I beg to differ on this, the fact that they can pay publishers less shows that they have the bargaining power at hands. The Google's P/L looks fantastic, Adsense certainly doesn't look like it is dying. You really need a few more credible Adsense competitors on the market so that there would be competition for the publishers and Adsense will naturally pay higher. But till now, I do not see any on the horizon. Adsense is still Number 1.
that what i agree with adsense is dead . i held a similar thread on this topic with the thread name "adsense is dead" at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=677389 but not many of them agreed!!! here i can see quite a lot accepting this fact!!! so just che that thread!!
