    Hi,
I was just wondering if someone steals my credit card information then opens a Paypal account to use my money. How can I find him/her? could Paypal or any other organization help me?

    Thanks!

If they use your credit card number on paypal, it has to be confirmed first before using it. Which has to go through you first.

If such an incident were to occur, PayPal could help you as they keep logs of all users activity, but due to privacy laws or some other type of prohibition due to their TOS, it's not likely.

Edit: To whoever left me a red rep and profane comment for this post, GET A LIFE.

Confirmation or Verification is done when the person proceed with the Expander Use Program after entering your credit card details. What happens would be your credit card would be charged US$1.95 and in the description for that details in your credit card statement there would be the unique 4 digits number which they would need to type into Paypal.

Since you only have access to your credit card statement, you will be the only one who can verify the account. At which time, you will know about it and can dispute the amount with your bank.

I supposed if your credit card details is stolen, you should contact your bank to report the lost and cancel the card.

also even if someone use your Credit Card then you will know by the bills.... and you can then chargeback and your credit card company will bring back all the money by force... and there is no one who can stop the chargeback.... so yes credit cards is very safe because of chargeback option....

and also guess what? your credit card company will punish them by making them pay for the Chargeback Fees... so they will suffer double lose because they will lose the payment and as well as they will have to pay your card company the fees for chargeback.... for more details on chargeback you need to call your credit card company.... and to file a chargeback you need to call your card company and they will do it for you....

Actually, the 'them' would be paypal as they would be the one suffering the chargeback fees and the sellers who received the payments from the stolen credit card. The one who stole your credit card details would most likely go off lightly unless they are physically caught.

well its true that the person who steal the CC will go untouch.... but paypal knows who use the CC... but paypal dont take action.... paypal knows everything but they never give you the info so you cannot do much... but CC companies dont understand that... someone has to pay the price... because it cost money when a they have to bring back the money....

scfc16 why you hijack a others thread? cant you start your own? but yes it is possible to make a paypal wihtout having any CC....

A Visa (Assuming you are referring to a credit card) isn't necessary but your account will be limited in a way when it comes to sending and receiving money.

Edit: Why do people act childish? Leave me red all day. Grow up and get a life. You can be anonymous, but I'm still talking to you.

Actually you can call PayPal and they should be able to help you through the process of getting the account limited so it can not be used. You may have to fax some docs but in most cases they will be more than happy to help you since the card is under your name and you have valid copies of the billing statements. If there have been charges, they can help you get those resolved.
