Really? I've been told its been down every night for the past week because of the same problem, "but it doesn't happen often". (and I have the e-mails from Globat to prove it)
Lol i noticed also that when i access my webpage sometimes i have to wait and refresh so i think this has been coming for a while now as when i first signed up it was great quick to access webpage and now lately slow to load all graphics and sometimes none will load.
I think it's all related to a failing router. My contact there told me that he's going to do a full blog post once the down sites are back up. From my judgment, they're competent and got burnt by a nasty hardware outage. From my point of view, I want to get my site up and then hear what they're going to do to make sure it doesn't happen again. --M
Hummmmmm. Backplane? One backplane on one router brining this giant to it's knees? Not good. The infrastructure should be designed where they can take any one device down and everything still works.

OK, so maybe they ARE working on it and not flying by night. But they should clean it up. STOP trying to steal money by automatically charging for "upgrades" no one wants and should not try max out servers and routers and bandwidth. And EXPLAIN what's going on and don't lie. Don't tell someone with ten outages that it's rare. Here's the gold standard: http://www.xmission.com/about/announcements/ - and if you're a customer, you get warnings before planned stuff and if it's unplanned, you get an email with the summary of what happened at the top of the email and then the body has incredible detail that only a fully certified nerd could appreciate. Let's have more of THAT sort of thing from Slowblat.
Globat just had a sale on Feb 20, domain for 1$ or something like that. Could be they just got blasted with new customers and had to go down to get new people online?
How are you guys getting a hold of support? I tried 877-245-6228 with no luck, is there another number I should be dialing? Thanks
I agree about the notification as atleast you have an idea whats happened. I hate suprises and hate being stuck trying trying to find numbers and emails to find out whats going on . I think that as paying customers we deserve that notifications before or during or after .
Lunarpages has been great for me. I have 11 sites on my account and I've only had to use their support a few times.
I just got an update from the front that the new hardware has arrived and they are installing it. Hopefully they'll have our sites up soon. -M
what's more annoying, this problem with globat, or the fact this thread is already getting spam from other web hosts? someone recommending another service is fine, spam is different
I just spoke with Globat Tech Support. All servers are down.....They hope to have them back up in 4-5 hours. i could not get any additional information out of the guy. I really hate Globat. This is my last year with them. My site/email was down over a week earlier this year because of an auto renewal billing mishap. Second time this has happend.
If anyone needs temporary hosting until Globat is back (Or permanent) ConnectHost.net will help you out. We can host you for free until Globat is back online. If you are interested, Ask us on live support or PM me here. (This is not spam, Just a helpful offer)
I have also been having problems with Globat since day 1. After prepaying for a year, my account was suspended 3 days later because they said my account was in collections. After a week, they figured out it was an accounting error, so my account was reactivated. E-mail is very unreliable, and my website load time is extremely slow. This morning, I got to my office and everything was down. I've been reading this all day, thanks for the help. I waited on hold with tech support for almost an hour this morning before being disconnected. My email just came back up about an hour ago - but still no website. I made a few calls this morning, and ended up getting pointed to a site called enom.com - Globat is a reseller for them. I asked what would happen if Globat never came back up - and they said they would be able to take control and help me transfer the domain name. As soon as it does come back up (assuming it does) - i will be moving to another company. The automatic upgrades are terrible/borderline illegal - especially since they always get caught in my spam filter. Even if I had to pay a termination fee - it would be well worth it to get myself out of this mess. 50% of my business is done through email and eFax, so this ruined a pretty busy day at the office. Thanks again Globat
