Poor CPM $0.10 - how to improve?

The problem:

First, forums don't do well because they tend to have regular return visitors, who become "ad blind."
Second, ad placment restrictions in forums are not ideal.
Third, in you case your Adsense ads don't relate to the special interests of your visitors. Why would your Leicester fans want to click on an eBay football ad? Google is simply not going to have ad inventory for your special-interest fans.

You have a great site that I'm sure your visitors enjoy, but there's not much you can do to improve Adsense revenue. Visitors don't click uninteresting ads. You should look at some affiliate programs that might more directly relate to the interests of your visitors.

I have little knowledge of which to try, only just started using adsense. Someone recommended Tribal Fusion earlier in the thread are they worth joining?

It's a big shame I get this many page impressions but little from it, the server prices don't come cheap either for a site of my size.

Try a mod on your forum that posts ads after the first post like digitalpoint has.

 

10cents it´s not poor, it´s probably average.
The problem it´s your CTR rate, i´d suggest you to review SERIOUSLY your add placement.

 

Man it's simple !! Just change the backraund to white and you will have at least 720 clicks a day trust me !

 

Try to put the ads right after the poster's signature and use the medium ones.

although the above is sort of valid, i would ignore this totally (you have fairly decent related football ads), and concentrate on the two ideas mentioned to get the most out of adsense, i am sure you will be successful

so i will repeat - copy something that is successful - dp forums ad placement technique - (log out and view the forum to see the ads)

1. pay a coder to put ad blocks in between your posts
2. improve your current ad block placement and use multiple colour schemes


simple really... go do it and report back!

I think your CTR is the real problem not CPM

 

Had it white today, got one click and 0.02% CPR.

 

what makes you think that dp forums has a better ecpm that what he's earning now?

 

you better concentrate on CTR, CPM will increase if CTR increases.
Try changing the ad positions and ad colors.

 

Use kontera (http://kontera.com) - i have heard its the best for forums.And i belive you can have atleast 2% ctr and $1cpm
Yuo will be earning at least $100 a month with such as traffic
