There is really no such thing as good or bad, it depends on your requirements, I would suggest you try http://www.opensourcecms.com/index.php Test out the demos available and decide for yourself which is the most suitable for your needs.
just so i know guys if i buy a cms template, which is 'close' to my needs, can i customise it? also can i make the navigation html?
It depends on how much is the customisation. You may want to just get the customisation done by the template vendors, normally they know better and it will be cheaper.
ok thats good, 1 more thing, if i wanted to use the same template on lots of different pages but have a different title image could i do that?
Normally when you buy a template it is only for one web site, you can have it definitely for pages within the web site, but if you have more than one web site, I guess you need to buy more copies of the same template.
Personally, I have much experience in many CMS software, but my favorite so far is Joomla! It has been so kind to me, and I have spent the past few months mastering it. I can basically do anything I want to do with it now. I totally recommend it, but it's not for the faint hearted. It takes quite some time to learn how to use, especially if you are new to website building, etc... Just my 2 cents- -Saam
I use Joomla on 2 sites and use wordpress for a blog. I like them both. Joomla has more to offer if you're going to build a website though. Good Luck
