I guess this is the right thread to post the qusetion.

I submitted my blog to approximately 500 directories and got only 25 confirmatios that my link is added. Is it because of the adsense program i use on the blog. ?? or is there anything that you people would like to add from your side/

    Thanks.

Did you submit to free directories? Directories don't all accept you just for the sake of accepting you, many have submission rules, many don't take the time to reply and many just close. To get the answer to why you never got in to any directory just write to them and ask.

Depends how they have their directories setup, some dont send confirmation emails for anything, its worth going through your list once in a while and checking where your listed.

No email doesn't mean not added.

I think adsense should not be the matter, But most of the free directories ask for the back link, if your back link is strong, there are more chances of approval.

Do you want to show the blog here for people to see? do you have more adsense on the pages than actual content?

Adsense in moderation will be fine to most directories.

    Thanks pipes..

I did a quick check of the sites point to me with the help of iwebtool's backlink checker. But nothing major there.. It shows 104 backlinkg but only 20 are legitimate rest are from my signature at digitalpoint.
Any other way i can check actual backlinks to my site

How long has it been? A lot of free directories will take around a month, but for a few it will be several months before your submission is even looked at.

My advice is, forget about it for a while. There is little point in resubmitting to most of these directories within six months of the first time. Directory editors will get to your link when they get to it, and not before, and the only way to speed up the process is to pay for reviews.

If you write like this (spelling mistake) when you submit your blog to directories. The directories owners knew it and they don't approve your link if they don't change your descriptions. It can be other reasons, why directories owners do not approve your link, design, name, spelling mistake and more. A good way to avoid this, is to read the "submit faq" before you submit your links.

What i would do for the moment is concentrate on getting more backlinks, still from directories and from other places too, some backlinks will take a while to start showing up.

Google doesn't show the full amount from what i read.

Some directories (most free ones) take some time to review the listing and to approve it. Wait it out - I did a directory submission 6 months odd ago and am still getting confirmation emails only recently!

I wouldnt worry about them, or spend too much time, go looking for more backlink possiblities and the confirmations will then start coming in - murphys law eh!

    Cheers

    So what do you expect?
That all directories would accept each website submitted?
You're saying of blog & adsense, not even providing URL.
I can bet it's a poor site. So even 25 confirmations is a lot.

There are millions of blogs, most amateurish, poor in content and layout, nearly empty sometimes. For me - shouldn't be listed in any directory, on any site apart of your own.

    Hello...

Well that would depend on the quality of the blog or site you submitted as well as whether you submitted to mainly free directories as opposed to paid review directories as sometimes many free web directories have large amounts of links to evaluate/review and that process can take a few days to a few months depending on pending links pending status at that free directory. If your site is all about 3rd party ad revenue and lacks content rich information then most directories wont accept.

My best advice is to look over your site and make adjustments as needed and keep submitting as the back-link building of any site is a continuous process.

    thx
    malcolm
