I'm curious then, why did you jump in here if you don't put any iota of worth into the Bible?

I'm pretty sure that Christians are allowed to say Hell... ;) I believe Jesus used the word quite a bit. :D

@ iminphils - I also believe that arguing about religion defeats the very purpose of religion. I stand on what I believe, but I don't have to prove myself to anyone else.

Pssst... I also believe in using the Edit button [IMG] when it's available instead of double posting so that I don't end up with infractions for padding my post count. ;)

All I can say is.. :(

You will never truly know unless you open yourself up and take a chance on faith. I have seen several miracles, yes true ones.

hmmmmm true joy eh? I know joy and I know sorrow. Neither of which has any bearing on anything. This whole thread has no bearing on which is fact or fake.

Once everything in the book can be proved to me I will believe in it. Ask yourselves this what kind of religion asked you believe in miracles but not magic?

you couldn't be more wrong, it has everything to do with joy/peace but then again I couldn't understand you to comprehend that not having ever experienced it yourself.

This is why you are cool tim. You know you can not see it through my eyes and do not try to force it it upon me. I respect what you believe and you respect what I believe.

Chris Gaines or Garth Brooks? I do not know if I trust someone who does not even know who he is. Makes me kind of suspicious. ;)

you are right but that's not what we are talking about.

anyways, Jesus was THE Christian but, we're talking about him using and referring to hell.

Hell of course doesn't exist for some since they cannot see it, visit it, smell it, hear it, find it in a textbook, or google it using google maps :D

and a Christian since he believed in his sacrifice ahead of time. :p

I'm a Christian but I've never understood the obsession with knowing when the second coming will be. If you have true faith that you are saved, why does it matter, and why are you trying to go around deciding who is going to get raptured or not.

I don't think it's organized or anything conspiritorial like that, but I do think there is a spreading psycological drive or subconcious desire from some people to make the end come faster by trying to even provoke it and wishing for all the tribulation stuff on people.

To me, that sounds like evil, hate, antichrist, whatever you wanna call it.

Why don't you quit telling everyone how bad they are, quit wishing for them to be tormented, and start telling them how much God love's them and how easy it is to accept His free gift with no strings attached? Then you have all your bases covered in case this interpretation of Revelation is wrong, and you won't feel quite as stupid. There are alternate interpretations of Revelation you know, and the Bible doesn't say "no one can come to the Father except they that know when the second come is and go around pointing fingers when people laugh at them."

Please, just stick to the basics if you can't stop getting all hyped up. Here's something nice to say and still get the point across about hell at the same time, lol:

God loved the world so much He came down in human form and endured torture and death to free us from the bondage of the law, so that anybody who simply believes that that is enough, won't have to suffer for their sins in hell.

What does the second coming even matter, if you truly believe in your heart that you are saved?

I'll believe in religion when they agree Hilter can be in heaven right this moment, since pretty much all "popular" religions believe no matter what you've done you can still sit on the right hand of god if you truly believe and repent your sins.

    what nonsense
