I would not advise doing that, it is no difference from piracy. I would strongly suggest you purchase or migrate your forums to open source free forum software such as phpbb3, SMF etc

Generally, don't worry about the illegal vbuletin. I can't guaranty but nobody do anything with your adsense. All problems only will be only if you will be a very well known brand.

I had nulled - found out it was illegal - Bought licensed

Do it before your site gets big. If you back your site up with nulled and switch to licensed, It can seriously damage the forum.

Glad that you have done that. Nulled versions can lead to DMCA and all sorts of legal issues as well as the fact that you would not know if the null versions contained trojan or not. Lastly the software creators need revenue in order to keep improving and supporting their products.

Actually, I think he was referring to the fact that many nulled versions use various add-ons and hacks that won't be present in the registered version, so you spend a lot of time tweaking the registered version or lose certain functionality.

Well using nulled script can be very harmful , first of all if you use it and Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd know about it , your host will close your site , if they are US based. If you are using valid licensed vb then remove "" FiNgTeN NetWorks "" from the footer because it make it look nulled .

Using nulled vBulletin can Drop your database everytime if they want :D Before I furchase licensed vBulletin, I used nulled, so about 2-3 months later they mail me to remove their software from the host :D
Be carefull, vBulletin is not expensive, it costs about $200 only.

Each time you load admincp, the current version and the latest version is displayed, for that the script contacts vb servers :)

No not actually, they do have their own guys checking. The are proactive rather than passive in catching pirates of their software.

The simple way to get around it, not suggesting that you do this though, is by using an off shore host. Otherwise, find $200, it is not that hard.
