That is the cleverest thing you said today but you need to apply this to your thinking.

You've hit the nail on the head. His vagueness is his prime tactic.
He is like a prophet. Preaching Change.

    what does that mean ?
We can understand something like stopping war or increasing taxes
    But change ?

He is using vague words and promises. He's trying to please everyone as well.

You said It. Obama is one vague dude. The Church he goes to is some kind of separatist organization.

You guys know the whole Madrasa thing was shown to be made up months ago right? Fox aired the story without actually doing research, all the other major news stories did like, actual investigative reporting and went to Indonesia. The school he went to was a secular public school, just like a public school in the US. Fox News retracted the story and issued an apology.

Not to mention hes been going to the same church for 20 years.

Check it out yourself, its just a black gospel church, there are thousands of them across the country. The only thing controversial I remember about the church is that one of the pastors made a couple off the cuff/non-pc remarks that made Obama distance himself from him.

I'm guessing from your radical/brainwashing comment though that your a tinfoil hat wearer and probably not actually open to reasonable intellectual discourse.

Sure sounds like some kind of radical separatist church to me.

NO REASON OBAMA REFUSES TO SALUTE THE AMERICAN FLAG

This is for the Hannity & Combs interview:

HANNITY: All right, but we're not dealing with — this is on the Web site today. Let me just inform our audience, and I want you to respond, if you can.

It says, "Commitment to God." By the way, I'm with you, and I hope you'll pray for me, Reverend. Commitment to the black community, commitment to the black family, adherence to the black work ethic. It goes on, pledge, you know, acquired skills available to the black community, strengthening and supporting black institutions, pledging allegiance to all black leadership who have embraced the black value system, personal commitment to the embracement of the black value system.

Now, Reverend, if every time we said black, if there was a church and those words were white, wouldn't we call that church racist?

WRIGHT: No, we would call it Christianity. We've been saying that since there was a white Christianity; we've been saying that ever since white Christians took part in the slave trade; we've been saying that ever since they had churches in slave castles.

We don't have to say the word "white." We just have to live in white America, the United States of white America. That's not the issue; you're missing the issue.

As I was trying to say to you, liberation theology
    — and I thought Eric Rush has studied at a theological seminary that was conservative — I've come to find out he doesn't know anything more about theology than I know about brain surgery.

ALAN COLMES, CO-HOST: Dr. Wright, it's Alan Colmes. First of all, I think Barack Obama put it correctly to the "Chicago Tribune" when he said that he'd be puzzled that the conservatives would object or quibble with the bulk of a document — which is your church's document — that espouses profoundly conservative values of self-reliance and self-help. That's what you're talking about on your Web site, self-reliance and self-help for the committee that your church serves. I don't see what the problem should be with that.

WRIGHT: That comes out of the perspective of liberation theology and black liberation theology. And I keep asking him, how many books of Cone's has he read? How many books of Dwight Hopkins? How many liberation theologians does he know?

Don't bother. I have covered this countless times now, and it is obvious nothing but the smear matters. A guy lives half his life as an active member of his church, and among the most vociferous in calling him names ("Barack Osama"), or part of some kind of Manchurian Candidate meets Al Qaeda Globalist conspiracy are those putatively held as Christians, on this very forum. Reprehensible, in my opinion.

But then, we've got all kinds of crap. People crying for the rights of free speech, to include neo-nazi websites pushing their bullshit, who at the same time cry about what Wiki does with its own content - wasting pages upon pages of debate, until finally admitting a mere personal bias; who support organizations that smear folks based on photographs - Eisenhower, former President and commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force, WWII - wuz a, wuz a...COMMIE!, calling such organizations "Defenders of Liberty"; who in day-to-day debate resort to ridiculous, tortured, pathetic sophistry - take your pick of the method, and take your pick of the substantive argument at hand (let's label Hitler, among others, "non-interventionist" and waste inordinate amounts of time in order to sway the gullible, shall we?; countless others); who are fine decrying the apparent tin-foil wearing of others, while ignoring their own, and on into infinity.

Sickening. At best, by some on this very forum (Including the OP), Obama was early on called a joke, who couldn't be more than a blip on this year's campaign. When, as I predicted, the man tapped a current national affinity, and is leading for the race to the Presidency, he is being subjected to smears, of all kinds, and all of them absurd. This "joke" may become the next President of the United States. I'd suggest people either accept or reject the candidacy of Barack Obama on the merits, or consider finding an electoral system that doesn't include any but those that fit a tragically myopic worldview.

Oh my, look at the good side. A good joke makes people laugh and makes them happy.

Now the question is whether obama is a good joke or a bad joke

    Bogart, nice selective quoting of the interview, I will agree the guy is kind of a wingnut though;

The liberation theology that seems to be so offensive to you:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberation_theology

"In essence, liberation theology explores the relationship between Christian, particularly Roman Catholic, theology and political activism, particularly in areas of social justice, poverty and human rights."

How horrible of them! Socially liberal Christian activists. They must seem like pure evil to a social conservative. :p

The level of ridiculousness in this thread continues to baffle me. Just unbelievable stuff. Wacked out conspiracy theories with no basis in fact, childish name calling, illogical conclusions. Got it all right here!

Barack Obama is a Christian. (Not that that should even matter or be a topic of discussion.) Deal with it. Stop with the crazy talk, it's making you look foolish and simple.

The facts are clear. Obama was raised in a muslim country by a muslim family. He is a member of a radical separatist church with revolutionary teachings. Obama refuses to salute the flag. His advisors have ties to the PLO and Hamas. The guy came out of nowhere and was chosen to be the main speaker at the 2004 Democratic National Convention while he was only a little known State Senator.

He looks set to win Wisconsin and seems to be unstoppable. Clinton election machine seemed to have stalled. Is it a foregone conclusion that Obama will be the Democratic Party candidate?

I sorry but if you can't put your hand over your heart for the The Star-Spangled Banner then you should not try to run the country. A little respect will go a long way. People did die for that flag!
