Does anyone know where I can find a code to install on all my page that will allow people to search for something on the site? This is my site Grocery Price Booksand there are just SO MANY manufacturers out there that it would take people a million clicks to get to the page they wanted. I want something that will give them a list of the pages that contain the keyword they entered. (this might be something someone has to create from scratch?) Thanks!
Heres the link to the code for you! http://tutorialwizard.wordpress.com/2008/02/15/search-this-page-script/
From the looks of it on your site you have Adsense. Go to Adsense Setup then to Adsense for Search. You can then customize your own search box, results page, etc. Plus you receive revenue at the same time.
If you're not using WordPress, then check out Sphider. http://cs.ioc.ee/~ando/sphider/ You will need PHP and MySQL installed on your server to use this.
Build your own? I built a simple boolean search for one of my sites that works pretty good. I used the advice I found in the link below. I had to modify it to the way I wanted it, but is a great tutorial on how to build a fair search engine of your own. http://www.joedolson.com/Search-Engine-in-PHP-MySQL.php
This is using a database isn't it? I don't have one. I have no figured out how the heck to use any of that stuff yet
Registered for them and got the "if you hear from us congratulations and if you don't we will keep your info" after i signed up Thanks for the link though!! That works for me for now!
these are just for simple use based on Java or html , but if you want to check and count the searched you have to use PHP and mysql for it....and sorry i cannot do this..i am not that expert:S
