If it's from a trustable seller then yes. It would be a good idea to fund the payment with a credit card incase a chargeback is deemed necessary. I have a feeling that some PayPal haters will chime in with negative remarks.
Do your background checks on the seller, what other forums do they they frequent, their itrader, etc etc - If they seem sketchy about answering any of your concerns, either ask for partial payment up front or leave it
I'd use moneybookers or e-gold just to make sure there will be no chargebacks. Better yet via Western Union.
A 1000 is more than I would care to lose. I would use an escrow service even if I had to pay the fee. The advice to use a CC is second best.
Hey cool_78, paying someone with egold, means I have no way of getting my money back if they are a scammer.. Thanks everyone. This is good advice that I'm getting. This person has no reputation anywhere. But he seems very ignorant about communities like sitepoint,digitalpoint... etc. He's selling banner spots on his site at really low rates. He charges $100/mo where most sites would charge $100/week. And he gave me full access to his google analytics and it looks to be good. I mean, those things can't be faked right?
How much traffic does his site get? You might want to think over why hes charging so little if he should be charging $100/week.
Its more safe if you use paypal than escrow. But, read this question also. "Is it safe to sale a site for $1000 through paypal?"
You're perfecly safe if you're buying thru paypal mate,go for it fund it with credit card and you should have no problems.
Use CC to pay via PayPal and you will be safe. $1000 transaction is okay with PayPal if the seller is legit.
beeter choose western union or wire transfer as there are chances to get rip off through paypal easily i am sure he can use these methods as $1000 is a big unit and he must have this much money in his account western union/ wire transfer best for such huge sales nothing else can be trusted more
yes this is the best solution ever... use Credit Card so you can chargeback later if any problem.... because there is a 50/50 chance of wining a dispute but there is no way to stop a chargeback.... so paypal will have no other option but to give the money back to you card company....
Since mostly everyone has said to fund the payment with a credit card, I'm sure that there's no additional reason for anyone else to echo it.
Western Union is not a very smart move, I would not recommended Western Union. Don't listen to those who said use Western Union, you may use PayPal, but another option is wire transfer. Best to know the seller's status, background, such and such. Good luck, cannot help you much besides the above.
