The revolvers are nice for concealed carry because they have a very small footprint and are VERY reliable, but the trade off is with how many rounds you have available in a sticky situation. I would say the next best concealed carry gun would be the glock, you have the option of 13 rounds and no safety switches to worry about when in a bind, the safety is on the trigger. The baby glocks are also VERY concealable and come in nice calibers like .40 S&W and .45 ACP.

Most Law Enforcement and Goverment are switching to the GLocks because they are so reliable and practically never jam or stovepipe. The Coast Guard also uses them because you can have a glock sitting in salt water for a week, take it out and it will fire through an entire clip without jamming. The even make seals for the 9mm that allow it to be fired underwater in seawater.

FBI's carry gun is the glock 23 .40 that I have, and with the right holster, its completly concealed, and its only a sub-compact.

I will post some pictures of mine when I get home! Good call, there should be pictures in this thread.

GLocks are amazing, cheap, reliable, easy to clean, ALWAYS work. I have had many guns, but the glock is by far my favorite and I will always own one. I have fired well over 50,000 rounds through my current glock, and never once had it jam.

This is the truth. Shooting is an amazing feeling, nothing quite compares.

Guns don't kill people, people do.

I don't care how big and bad your are, you can not defend yourself against a criminal with a gun, unless you also have a gun. In a way I guess your right, guns are for hunting and war, and its a jungle out there with the human race at war with each other. The only way to keep the peace sometimes is to balance the power.

Just look at the cold war and the stock pile of nuclear weapons, yea it was terrible, but it needed to be done. If guns had never been invented then it wouldn't be a problem, but you can not let just the criminals have weapons, that gives them an advantage they shouldn't have.

criminals? it depends on case, if there is no significant distance between you and the criminal with gun, I would say that knife is even more dangerous in that case... Anyway, you can always escape or defend it depends only on your and criminal's skills and feel of fear and how good you are prepared and if you have experience... we can discuss it really for a long time but I'm convinced that it really depends...

Glock 9mm I have heard are bad about stove piping but then that was the older glocks from the early and mid 90's I heard about that were doing that. I will see that kind of pistol I end up with. It is not exactly on my immediate plans for the future list. Right now I need to get new wheels for the wifes car and get a new transmission for my truck. Once that is done I'll be happy. I'll look into concealed and a pistol later.

I've been looking for something more concealable than my Glock 22 .40. Those baby Glocks sound nice. I'm off to look up more info about them. Thanks for the tip. ;)

I just get stalked online. Nobody has ventured into my real world, yet. :p

Admittedly I don't own any guns and have only fired a 12-gauge and a .22, I still support them and am against gun control.

If lived in America I'd get a gun, but Canada makes it pretty tough for minors to get arms. If I could get a handgun it would probably be a M1911 Colt and for a larger weapon if I could get my hands on one it would be an M4 (which are actually sick).

I neither own nor support the ownership of guns. This may be due to the better personal security assured for an individual in my country and the strict law of land in protecting the wild life.

I don't own a gun but I think the legal right to ownership is of utmost importance. I support the entire bill of rights - from free speech to requiring warrants to states' rights and everything in between.

I absolutly hate people who go hunting. I would shot them in the face.

However, I do support guns for personal defence.

This last years school shootings have multiplied.

Just check here how many have there been in this month!! http://acolumbinesite.com/

Well I got a couple responses and I'm not going to quote. To the fella in Canada in the US you could not own a gun. You have to be 18 to purchase rifles and shot guns and ammo for those and any BB or Airsoft type pistol. You have to be 21 years old to buy a handgun and ammo for said hand gun.

To the person who said you hate people who hunt I have a couple points to make to you. First off I have not had the chance to hunt yet myself but I should have it this coming season and I will go hunting this coming season. Hate me if you wish I don't care but you must understand hunting is a good thing.

Hunting keeps the eco system in check. You get too many deer in a population for example then the food becomes scarce and the entire population becomes unhealthy and die off because of malnutrition. If you hunt deer and thin the herd out about it manages the population. The main reason behind it here in the states is to cut down on nusince animals. Those are the animals that get into peoples garbage and what not. When the food sources run out they go to peoples front yards and eat there trash that is out for garbage collection.

So you have to have some form of population control to keep a herd healthy and hunting is a great form of it. Personally if I go hunt deer I'm eating it I ain't doing it for the sport of it. So hunting has a reason. A hunter does not bother me.

However I am with you on poachers. I'd like to shoot a damn poacher right in the face.

Well as you probably know, gun laws are strict in Australia, but it means that only people deemed sane and relatively normal can keep firearms. It is not hard to get them, it just seems to be. I don't own any weapons myself, but I do not see why people can't. The gun laws in place are acceptable and mitigate the resk of blatantly psycho people getting them (of course, there's always the risk of someone acting normal). The only weapons we can't own are automatic weapons. In Western Australia we can't own magazine fed rifles or a pistol with a magazine size greater than 8. Also, you're not allowed to carry them in public just for the hell of it. They're for sport and hunting only.
