Sad. I went to 4 funerals in 2007 because of suicides. I had to deal with a lot of suicides when I was in my teens, then in my 20's it didn't seem to happen as often and now that my friends and I are in our 30's, it's starting to happen a lot again.

    No Way!
    Small world.
I just hate the way that MP such as Madeline Moon come out with such defensive comments
and cause futher harm through tactical intelectual challenges.

Really wonder why they are doing it.

    Why? I blame the news!

There are probably a thousand times more people thinking about killing them selves than those who are actually doing it. But reading those big stories about suicides kinda encourages them to actually do it, imo.

To make a comparison: It's like those "I made $1,000,000 in a month" stories. Many people are dreaming about it and reading that, if even only one or two people in affiliate marketing accomplished it makes them carry on....
Although in that case it is a long way. People try it, probably won't make it and get off it or be satisfied once they reached a certain level.

But about killing themselves it's all or nothing, live or die. That may sound a little simple but I'm know to be a pragmatist. In essence, it's just like that...

There should be more family support and crisis lines to deal with such situation, I think most of the time, what the suicidal person wants was just someone to talk to and pour out their pains and grievances, it is a pity, God gave us life, we shouldn't just end it this way. There are so many out there struggling to live or struggling to stay alive.....

    They are just so young.
Is it that a war or some sort of emotional impulse gets the attention instead?
When I was 19 I was just hoping not to go to Iraq.
Do people need war? Something just as a distraction?

Join a church group or a volunteer group, normally this helps to get the comradeship in place and even if you are suicidal there will be someone to talk to in the group.

Any thread that discusses about suicides (how to commit one and different methods involved) is more likely to be closed and locked by the mod. Hope this one will meet the same fate:(

    Do not understand you?
We are discussing the dilemma of the youth in a small town that has hit the news. I cannot find any references or terminology as to how to conduct one?

I've never agreed with suicide being the answer to problems...Suicide is the ultimate solution for the severe depressed people...very very sad:(

Suicide is never a solution for severe depressed people or for any people in general, counselling or psychiatric help can more often be life saving.....

Life is simply too precious, it is something that is bestowed to us by someone high up, we should live to our fullest.

I guess I am lucky enough to have not had to deal with a lot of suicides. I know of people who have committed suicide, but I was never really close to them.
