Looking for a free tool which can check keyword density at the same while I am writing content. Please let me know of all the options you know about.

I am not remembering the site address of a keyword density checker I used to use. I heard of http://www.live-keyword-analysis.com/ but it isn't very interesting.....

    Thanks.

Thank you guys for suggesting e3kwd. I already have it but the problem persists with offline documents. It is good for checking online websites keyword details. But I seem to have many problems with offline content.

It gives a certain error and doesn't show anything. I doubt that is because of some special characters used in the document.

    Thanks again :)

If you use Word to write your articles, checking your keyword density is quite simple. All you have to do is hit ctrl + F, then type your keyword into the search box. Check the tick box that says "Highlight All Words In" and then click on "find all".

Once you know how many keywords are in the article, divide that number by the total number of words in the article, then multiply by 100. The result is your keyword density.

    HTH :)

Well, that was so nice of you to share. Thanks!

But to be frank, don't you think the process is long? specially when you are focusing on creative part of your mind.

I don't think it would be unless you need to keep count as you write but I think that if you wanted to use it at the end of writing process, say when you are proofreading or editing, it would be very useful and could just be integrated as part of the editing and proofing process. I love the tip and I plan to try it out today!

The program worked flawlessly for me. It has one limitation though: it only works with plain text files. I think that this is the source of your problems.

If you work in Word, you can also make a macro that will calculate your keyword density in any given document. Here is the code and a tutorial how to make the macro. Very easy.

Wow, I actually find it much shorter than loading a web page, cutting and pasting, and waiting for the numbers to come back. You can round the numbers and do the math in your head so all you really need is the word count, the number of times the phrase appears, and basic match skills or your handy dandy calculator (which I keep on my desktop).

Sorry I don't have any suggestions that involve websites or programs but I second this one. It is much quicker to me and exercises the old noggin.:D

On this one I agree with Cool Copy and AdBullock, geez..it just doesnt get any easier than that!!...with or without a calculator. We all seem to miss at times that the easiest things lay right under our noses.
