sex.com what happened to it ?

today i visited sex.com

i noticed it is in now parked ( all links leads to searchportal.information.com so i believe it is parked )

last time when i saw it contained some blog , forum , sales (ofcourse porn )

how come a big rated million dollar site go for parking revenue

is parking revenue is good compared to the old site usage

is it sold or stealed again ?

 

Be glad you can atleast view the site, here from China it seems to be banned

 

he he to be frank that site is not good for porn

i just visited due to the sales of that name

 

They get so much type in traffic that parking can be good option, maybe they test it..... Of course there should be better ways to make cash from that traffic.

 

ya may be they just testing abt parking revenues for few days

because http://whois.domaintools.com/sex.com shows some other thumbnail

 

If the site made $1.000.000 per year in the early 2000 i find it hard that they would make that kind of money by parking it...

 

No they wont make 1 000 000 by parking it, but adult business have changed a lot since 2000....
so Im not sure if they can make $1 000 000/year with their type in traffic even if they have anykind of site in there.....

So lets say they make "only" 300k a year with parked site, they dont need to do any work at all.

If they open membership site on same domain and make 400k profit from it, they still need to work their ass of for it, new content everyday etc....

 

I get the site myself. Not sure why you would be getting anything different.

I just checked the site, and it's not parked. Maybe through DNS they are taking a fraction of traffic and pushing it to a parked page?

Sex.com has been parked for ages now. They get "privileged" parking, so it might not look like a parked site.

I don't see any links pointing to searchportal.information.com. The Domain's IP resolves to webair host. Looks like they are serving sponsored search feeds when using their search option. It does not have to be parked to get these feeds, just high traffic. Other areas of the site are custom. You can become a channel sponsor and buy a link. Probably pretty cheap of course.

Maybe sex.com does not like foreign traffic and is routing you to a different destination.
