Why is there no scientific attempt to simulate solar system at 12/21/2012?

    IMHO at this moment of time it would be theoretically impossible to simulate the solar system as at now not to say 12/21/2012 simply because we are still not able to gauge even the behavior for a single planet the Earth or rather to simulate a single event, that of the global warming effect with reasonable accuracy.

    There are too many known and unknown variables and too much interdependences which we do not yet know, it is definitely an NP complete question which defies calculations.

    Well, I had this nifty constellation program that used NASA calculations, and it had a planet, and asteroid mode. I watched it, and even did the 2012 thing before I reformatted. Basically all that happened was an asteroid flew by harmlessly. I think it was called something like Skywatch, or whatever.

    Wish I still had it.

    It's because earth is in what they call the inner system (mercury Venus earth mars) so it's hard to see earth when looking at the entire system. If you want to see the inner planets clearly you can click the "inner system" radio button or increase the size of the display.

    Earth is the blue circle with a cross in it on the display.
