It might not happen straight away, But eventually something will happen. And it will be proof of the magic elf.

 

Every law that exists in this universe shows me that god exists. harmony shows order and order shows me that god exists. Do you seriously believe that the earth revolves perfectly around the sun from randomness? If so why arent we randomnly flying away from the sun. Who created gravity? Did it randomnly appear by magic?????????? Did these great mathematical laws come about by chance? Think people!!!!!!!!!!

pingpong , there are many questions in this world which are a mystery for all of us and our brain is not capable at the moment to explain many things (we are using just a few % of our brain)

Are you telling me that Mathematical laws were created by God ? Come one , Mathematical laws are laws found from intelligent and hard-working mathematicians

 

but how do you know it's god who made them and not stox's magical elf that lives in his sock draw? How does it make any more sense praying to your god than to buddha, ra, zeus, or the magical elf?

 

It's ironic that you tell us to "think" and you are the one using the invisible sky daddy as a reason to not think. religion makes people content with not knowing and not understanding. It makes them happy to live thier life thinking the invisible man in the sky done it all instead up picking up a book, Educating themselves and perhaps making a discovery or two.

The reason we don't fly away from the sun or fall in to it is the same reason satellites go round and round the earth. It's an orbit. When the solar system first formed it started as a huge gas cloud. as the centre of the cloud condensed through gravitational forces the gas on the outside started spinning round it - much like how galactic arms circle the centre of the galaxy - The gas that was rotating too slow went to making the sun, The gas that was rotating too fast either disappeared off into space or went in to making comets, But the gas that was rotating at the right speed maintained an orbit around the sun. And over time this orbiting gas it's self gathered and formed planets.

Gravity comes from the effect mass has on space. if you have a rubber sheet and put a ball on it it makes a dent in the sheet. Now any other objects that you put on the sheet will be effected by this dent and they will be drawn to each other. That is how gravity works and that is how it is produced. Seriously, This is stuff you should have learned at school (assuming you went to school).

All you do when you make facile points like this is demonstrate that your belief in a god is due to your pitiful lack of understanding of the world around you. You celebrate your own ignorance and use it as a stick to defend your god.

As for the thread, I don't think there is any point in it when everyone already knows inside that He exists. The thing they need to be asking is for Him to let them believe. You can rationalize anything that seems supernatural through science (and I believe rightly so), but you shouldn't need a sign to believe what is already tugging on your conceince.

Reminds me of the verse about how an evil and wicked generation needs a sign.

I don't mean that as a diss against the thread starter or anyone here, just mean that if you already don't believe, you aren't going to be able to see whatever sign He sends. For me there are signs every time I take a breath or realize my conciousness.
