Reciprocal Links... do they count less?

If Site A links to Site B.... but Site B doesnt link back...... does the Link from Site A weigh more than if site B linked back?

If Site B links back to Site A...... do the backlinks have the same weight??

    Geez hopefully this isnt confusing!!!

    In a word, yes.

Google discounts reciprocal links. I don't know how much, but likely, the backlinks would have little value.

I'm a supporter of ONE WAY links

    And i'm against Reciprocal links

The best strategy is to get backlinks ONE WAY only

    Does it really matter?

If you own site A, you better never once link to any related site EVER! If you did you run the risk of them linking back!

And if your site is worth linking too, then chances are site B will in fact link back...

Though, if no sites are linking to each other, then where does that leave us? heh... once again relying on Directories? (and if so, by the gods, don't link to one!)

I have heard some people say that reciprical linking is less valuable than one-way, and I have heard others say that reciprocal linking gets punished.

Personally, I believe any links to your site is good. The search engines are going to get to your site from other sites via your link. If you have some reciprical links then they might be considered less valuable on the basis that it provides another exit for the search engines from your site. A one-way link is just a straight shot for the search engines to your site.

You would think that they would not count for much, but they do.

My www.narutowallpaper.biz has mainly reciprocals (about 15) and gets 15,000 uniques each day from Google.

But still the problem is same, How many people vote for one way back link v/s reciprocal......
If we put one way back link at our website, does that count?

Just following the thread. Ring O Fire and Ring o Smoke create a circle of links. And numerous sites I list link back to me. I was offering it as an example. Read the thread title.

Reciprocal links are fine as long as you don't over do. Avoid link schemes, FFA links and sites that have general link directories.

Links that are relevant can also bring traffic.

What do a few examples of link schemes look like? Forums link to my other sites, as do other contractors. My sites link back and forth a bit, mostly becasue each offer's is own unique service. Is that good or bad? Even a free hosted site with a banner is a pr2.

Link with theme related relevant sites always count.

If site B do not give link back to site A,then it means that site B do not want to exchange link with your site.It is better to drop the link of Site A.

I think people worry too much about reciprocal linking. It still works. It's still useful. Just use it as part of your overall linking strategy. I wouldn't put all my eggs into the reciprocal linking basket, but I believe that mixed in with directory entries, one way incoming links etc, it can definitely give you a boost.

Depends on your link partners if your LE partner is more popular or maybe an authority sites it will pass juices and helps your site too...

If your LE partner doesn't linkback to you, you are giving them backlink while you have none. That's the logic of LE.

"I link you, you link me!"...

The problem with this is that it is way more difficult to get quality one-way links than recip links unless you pull your links from a trade after a while which I find a lot of people are doing and is complete bs. There is nothing wrong with 2-way links as far as SERPS are concerned. I have at least one site that ranks number 1 for a very competive keyword and was done mostly by 2 way links.
